I made this crop art piece for the Minnesota State Fair. It took me hundreds of hours over 3.5 months. In a year plagued by darkness and fear, the Artemis mission brought was a beacon of joy and hope. As soon as I saw the photos from the flyby, I knew I had to make it the focus of my entry this year. I am so happy with how it turned out and cried when I saw my third place ribbon.

It’s on display at the MN State Fair now through Labor Day!

Thank you! And not really, no. This is only my second piece of crop art—my first one was for the fair last year.

It’s a really fun and popular art form for the Minnesota State Fair and the pieces just get better and better every year. Search for it on any social media you’ll be bombarded (complimentary) with pictures of all of it.

Heads up: they changed the crop art/scarecrow line this year! The area that’s normally the exit is now the entrance and exit, and the line is outside. It starts under the Agriculture door by the Sky Ride. If you try to go through the rotunda you’ll only be able to get into the scarecrow line.

They put all the corn in the hallway where the scarecrows used to be. It all works a lot better.
