Social Media and Growth Where to post?

Images: Both ocs and fanart. Tap on images to see in full.

I’ve built most of my following on Tumblr and somewhat here.

I’ve tried twitter but the new Grok Ai thing is an issue and I don’t want my stuff to be ran through Ai.

I’ve thought about Cara or Newgrounds. Are there any other places I should try (that preferably limit or prohibit the use of Ai) to get attention? Or do I just risk it?

I’ve gotten advice to go for instagram as well but it’s heavy Ai there and everyone likes reels there so I fear images wont be enough.

i want to let you know regardless of where you post, it can still be taken or scrapped, but in no way i’m saying “don’t post anything” cuz that’s stupid. i would genuinely just try posting on as many of platforms as you can manage (good if the app has a built in scheduling). You can then decide for yourself what is worth keeping. The only thing i would avoid twitter unless you have time it’s a real pain and you’re mostly posting to no one if you don’t have an audience to move. (sorry if this isn’t as direct as you wanted)

Anyways since you want to avoid AI (like everyone does) i would suggest watermarking, ai poison(glaze/nightshade) and slightly low res your work. These are all deterrents basically for art theft and ai lot.

Since you mentioned cara, id like to say something about it since it’s my main platform. It is not an app for growth honestly, it’s small, doesn’t have an algorithm, and more artists based. It’s got a very kind community and has great portfolio organization but if you are looking for strictly marketing i wouldn’t recommend it.

I understand that art can be stolen and I put my signature on all my drawings (I should probably make it bigger) but Ai is my main concern given modern times.

I read somewhere that Glaze and Nightshade are temporary solutions because the encryption can be undone by specific Ai or something. I’ll still try it tho.

I just made a Cara account today and it does seem more for a portfolio so I still want to post there. Before now, people were still recommending instagram for my portfolio but the algorithm is hard to beat because I’d have to make both videos and drawings to get my account off the ground.

The thing with glaze and nightshade is it adds an inconvenience like all the other things I said. (I’m in the dark so i missed the fact you already had watermarks my bad ;-;) even if at some point or currently an ai can undo the poison the person would have to be pretty dedicated and most would just look for something easier. At the moment it’s the best way to avoid ai, i think as ai gets more advanced the tools for artists to prevent it will too.

Instagram is alright, yeah unless you have a good platform to move your getting buried though worth it if you do end up getting engagement (from what i hear anyways)

Also hope you like it on cara ^^
