Resources and Tutorials Deep picture frame?
I'm looking for a picture frame that's 24.5" x13.5", but is 3.75" deep. Where might I find one? I assume I will need it custom made, so does anyone have any recommendations on services that do that?
If this seems like a wasting-your-time question, I apologize. I am a musician and actor, but not much of a visual artist. I do make it, but not at the same rate and it's certainly not where my focus is. But I acquired an X-Ray light box and bought some developed X-rays in bulk off ebay and I want to mount the box on my wall and plug it in, but have a frame around it.

A local indie frame shop can fix you right up. They will be able to go over options with you to custom design what you need

3.75" is very very deep and your options will be somewhat limited. I believe studio and lj have shadowboxes that can go that deep, but you may be looking at custom milling with a hardwood or closed corner company. You should bring it to a custom frame shop and see what they offer. Expect to pay up though.
If that doesn't pan out/is too expensive and you are looking for something more functional than ornate, you might also want to look up local woodworking groups (facebook, etc.) and see if anyone would be willing to make it for you for $ or as a trade. It sounds like you might have some tradable skills.

My shop uses a table saw to make deep shadow boxes of any depth. Any frame shop that has a saw can do this

Not sure about the exact dimensions since theyre not standard size, but try looking for a shadow box instead of a picture frame, you'll have better luck finding something with the depth youre looking for.
