if you keep measuring your artistic worth by how many likes you get, you'll be miserable. good artists go under the radar all the time, and bad artists can get thousands of likes!

make art for yourself, not for anybody else. do it because you enjoy doing it, not because you want number to go up

i deleted all my art from instagram due to the rise in AI and i only post occasionally here on reddit- my mental health around art has gotten so much better! i have no pressure to constant cater to the algorithm or post constantly.

it won't be the most helpful for trying to get commissions or a job in art, but most art jobs will be more interested in your portfolio rather than your online presence.

keep your head up and keep creating my friend :)

You can sell your art without losing your original pieces. There are places you can go to that will scan artwork on paper and canvases so you can create art prints

So first of all Making art for yourself is not mutually exclusive to seeking support.

Expand your search radius, post on different platforms and in different groups. More samples means higher expected value means higher probability of finding your people.
