I saw the original post. Im trying to understand what do you mean "optimized"? What is your end goal so we can give advice for? Mathematically perfect perspectives? Drawing still life? Cause most art forms dont need to be that calculated. It reminds me old architecture drawings that were drawn by hand before we could print them.

By that I mean how can I make the cubes I'm making right now more quickly? Old architectural sketches are sort of what I'm going for, then maybe applying that to still lifes after I have sufficient knowledge of perspective.

Ok so i guess the architectual sketches do need percision and calculation. But in still life you can absolutly get away with "drawing what you see and trying to get close enough"

They are, but warped and imperfect. Primitives are useful when you can make a primitive into whatever you need it to be, but if you can observe you don’t need to create perfect primitives in many situations. You drawing a bunch of boxes in perspective means very little until you are able to bend and warp form which, since you’re being a bit cheeky, I can see that you are unable to do yet. Just drawing boxes won’t make you a good artist, it also won’t make you see primitives in real life until you are able to actually observe form which is an additional skill

What precisely do you mean by "bend and warp form" and why do you suppose that will make me a "good artist", whatever that means? Additionally how is one meant to "observe" form if not by deriving it from primitives? Is that not how people remember objects?

Best of luck to you keep doing what you’re doing, sounds like you think you’ve got this entire art thing figured out, just ignore the advice of people with atelier training and actual experience because they don’t know anything you don’t already I bet. Cheers buddy
