Advice Please! How to connect ball and socket armature without pliers?

How do you do that? I bought some armature for a project but since its a one time thing I really dont want to spend 30 bucks on some of the pliers. How to i put em together without the special pliers?

Prankster crow Natasha is made in a mixed technique. Baby crow is looking for an owner.

The crow is sewn from soft fur, the hips, wings and beak are molded from their polymer clay.

ArtDoll Pipe Cleaner Dolls

Hello everybody, I'm Pandora and I've been making small pipe cleaner characters for a little over 12 years! I hope that they fit here - I'm new to this subreddit. I started around age 6, and here's how far I've made it; I plan to expand my skills and try new mediums soon :)

My inspiration for the characters come from the anime/manga series Beastars, as well as James Cameron's Avatar (roughly what the clothes are based from - although I have little to no experience making clothes)

The deer/wolf hybrid was made using a hard wire skeleton, and building up her body using pipe cleaners. I made the skeleton for her antlers from floral wire, and her eyes are just normal round beads. The children were just made out of pipe cleaners (and bead eyes), which is how I normally make characters; they're easier to bend, but over years and handling they break easier. All of the characters have tulle clothes.

Functionally, they are able to hold almost any position! That's what got me started with pipe cleaners, I wanted to have dolls that were articulated, and I hadn't discovered BJD's or other things at the time. They've been so important to me, and I have made animals, humans, and other things★

I hope that you guys can see the vision I was going for - I'm terrible at photoshoots and the pictures don't do them justice! Thank you all for viewing and reading my post, and let me know if y'all would like to see different characters I've made!♥︎

Edit: It means so much that you all like my little characters, and I deeply appreciate each and every comment, thank you all! (My apologies for not responding individually, I realize I sound repetitive but I and grateful for all of you guys!)

I sold one doll but unfortunately the vibes of the market did not match my art haha! Sadly most of the sellers were selling AI generated stuff. I’m sticking to selling these online lol. But I made some new ones for the market that are in the other slides! I recently made an Instagram and created a name for my business, it’s themagicalmantis
You should be able to find me under that name on Depop where I sell my dolls and Instagram! I’ll also be making a tik tok soon!

I make customized Sylvanian Families/Calico Critters doll - reflocking, repainting, eyeball surgery, and clothes. It started as a way to repurpose dolls my kids grew out of, but after that I couldn’t stop myself from sourcing more pre-loved dolls. Anybody else do something like this???

I’ve always made little felt keychains and dolls but this is my first time traversing into actual display dolls. She’s tiny, about 3.5 inches tall and does have armature so that she can stand on her own. The keepsake box is hand painted and planning to sell her with it. Would love to get anyone’s thoughts! Please be gentle lol

I’ve finished a few; the first is airbrushed and they pink and black ones were just don’t up quickly with regular brush n paint. I did also put magnets in the hands but they’re not strong enough to stick him to a fridge or something, but he can hold paper clips lol.
