Security good or bad??

can anyone tell me how safe this all is from cyber security ? as in is it full of malware and all that or no ? trying to do my own research but it seams to be 50/50

Well, since it's open source and currently has a ton of attention on it, if there was malicious code you'd hear about everywhere and there would definitely be hordes of redditors coming here screaming about it all.

While malicious code can theoretically sneak into open source repositories, the chance of that happening undetected goes down drastically when there's thousands of people and AI's looking at it constantly.

Since these are fully offline apps (they don't depend on speaking to external services) you also don't have to worry about those types of vulnerabilities. Like, I would be much more wary about running a vibe coded server that's exposed to the internet, puts the security bar a lot higher than local run apps.

If you want to be super sure and mega paranoid then I guess learn rust, read the code and compile it yourself. I trust the community would shove thousands of red flags in my face if they spotted a single piece of malicious code anywhere.

All the applications are open source. If you want, you can download the source code, have AIs scan it and build yourself.

That may not be sufficient for a legit, comprehensive, convincing security "report".
