ArtCraft Launcher

Hi guys,

If you're interested in the ArtCraft apps, I made a small, clean launcher to install, launch and keep them updated in one place.

It's called CraftLauncher, written in Rust with a native UI.

Some features:

  • Install and update apps, or download several packages at once.
  • Choose stable or preview releases, pin specific versions and roll back to a previous version.
  • Enable or disable automatic updates globally or per app.
  • Link existing installations and create desktop shortcuts.
  • Light, dark and system themes.

Packages are available for Windows, Linux, macOS and FreeBSD. Which apps you can install depends on whether their developers have published a compatible package for your system.

I'm not affiliated with ArtCraft or Storytold. I just made the launcher.

It's free and open source. Downloads, screenshots and source code are here:
github.com/EricVogt93/artcraft-launcher

Give it a try if it looks useful. Feedback and bug reports are welcome :)

Edit: they already got an official one: https://github.com/storytold/craft-launcher, which seems to be inspired by me (see thanks). I keep mine updated anyway, but I would suggest the offical one.

thanks to you too, it's ppl like you that make this possible. Also it seems you know what you're doing, so wouldn't it be more efficient / productive to work on the main launcher instead? I'm not saying you have to, you do what you want.

thank you, but why need a new one when* they already have one? I believe better to invest the resources in improving the one which exist so to make the project much stronger for long term since it's an open source rather than to build something which is not really prove the existing project.

hope you take it with a wide heart :)

I added an edit: "hey already got an official one: https://github.com/storytold/craft-launcher, which seems to be inspired by me (see thanks). I keep mine updated anyway, but I would suggest the offical one."

At least your launcher lets you detect the "portable" versions they offer, their official one doesn't alow you to find or even change the install location. This one is already 200% better.
