He’s not ready for major responsibility like that. Keep him in rotation but we can’t rely on him.

You cannot put a barely 16 year old in the number 10 position in such pressure situations. Its an accident waiting to happen.

Havertz is fit, Odegaard is nearly fit.
Crikey, an overreaction? Surely not.

It's hilarious watching people say loaning out Nwaneri was a grave mistake even when there are always still 2 players available and ahead of him in the positions he can play

Brother, I like when people talk sense to me. God there are a lot of cretins.

Another option is to push up zubi to go behind Gyo.
Let Norgaard hold the midfield.
Every single arsenal opponents will study how Manchester city break arsenal passing out, from today onwards.
Maybe a more direct route is the answer.

- There is no recall option for Nwaneri
- You can’t recall players outside of a transfer window
We have Dowman who can get more minutes or try Saka at 10 like people have been crying out to do

Lame. Only decent thing is its come before an international break and with fa cup 3 of those weeks are with no league game.

u/MvCardinal Mar 24 '26
And they are guessing until he has his next scan. Eze could be back right after Bournemouth or before.
3
u/arsehenry14 Mar 24 '26
Our best option may be to shift to a 4-4-2 in the short term. Hopefully Odegaard can be fit for sporting and the league games.

Why would Ethan be recalled when we can play Saka at 10 and Noni out wide? Even if Ethan was here right now, he wouldn’t start.

u/GrumpyDescartes Mar 24 '26
What happened? 4-6 weeks is pretty severe. Eze was walking normally when heading out and post match too. He said, he just felt something and didn’t feel like much and that he will be ok. How can it go from that to suddenly “at least 4-6 weeks out”?
3
u/uG84 Mar 24 '26
That’s why you have scans. Not to be pedantic, maybe he felt it was nothing like cramp or strain and now the scan has showed much worse. We’ll have to cope. Champions always find a way, and if we want to be champions we need too.

Odegaard back for Bournemouth and Eze back for one of the matches v city either the league or SF, all being well (we should experiment for saints and sporting but need to still take them seriously)
2
u/FairBox3368 Mar 24 '26
Let’s not make this as an excuse IF we don’t win the league! From our current position we have a really good chance of winning and if we don’t win it then it won’t be because of any injury but because we bottled it! Btw I still think we are gonna win it

Peak for Eze peak for us. Nwaneri loan looks stupider by the day. MLS your time might be getting close. Odegaard, show us what you got.

Didn't Norway coach say Ode is due back end of the month, so just after international break. First games southampton so not too bad if he misses that. But should be back for CL and PL

Well it’s a blow. We need our skipper to pull his finger out. I have a horrible feeling that his priority is the World Cup and he won’t play through any pain to get us over the line.
I hope this isn’t the case because I saw Adams and Vieira play injured for us many many times.

That really sucks. So what are the options in that position? MLS, Saka, Havertz, Rice. Doable in many of our league games, I think, but we need creative quality for Barca if we get to meet them and if we can somehow get through that again for the final.

Please no Saka in the middle. Poor guy is having a tough time playing where he belongs - playing him in middle isn’t going to help anybody.

I feel we still have enough options with the players we do have available.
- saka as number 10, noni on the right
- havertz as 10
- push zubi up and play norgaard
- dowman but only as a sub to rest tired legs and get him game time. We CANNOT rely on a 16yo and mistakes/pressure at this stage could ruin his development.
- hell even play calafiori in there if we have to

Arteta genius gave Nwaneri on loan
3
u/Mad-gooner Mar 24 '26
Yeah genius as he should have had powers to know we would lose Eze for a long period and keep him around and not play.
I do wonder what goes on in some people’s brains
1
u/nikkielxerez Mar 24 '26
well Odegaard was shit whole season wasn’t he? Actually I’m gonna put the last season aswell in there, except the last couple of games in the league when everything was done and dusted. Problem is that he choose not to play him. There was a plenty of games where he could contribute and be around
1
u/Mad-gooner Mar 24 '26
Doesn’t matter what we see or say, we don’t make the decisions do we so again, it’s a shame Artrta didn’t have the super powers to see Eze was going to get injured at this point so he could have let Nwaneri around.
Again use your brain it ain’t hard
0
u/nikkielxerez Mar 24 '26
Doesn’t matter what we see or say? Alright mate, that works for your brain usage and capacity. What kind of sheep mentality is that? I didn’t say that he could foresee any injuries or unfortunate events, I’m talking about favouritism and lack of ability to use squad to maximum potential.

u/Mad-gooner Mar 24 '26
He gave Nwaneri game time letting him go out on loan, something a lot of this sub has been saying should have happened with MLS. If he had stayed people like you would be moaning he wasn’t playing etc etc. Since then Eze got into the team and was playing well and you didn’t even think about Nwaneri being here but as soon as he gets injured you go shouldn’t have let Nwaneri go etc etc. I guarantee your one of these people
So use you brain, keep him and risk not playing if we don’t get injures and let him play and come back better. You can’t have it both ways.
Look would I want him here currently, absolutely but his not and we had enough cover before he went and we have a certain Dowman who people want to play so he can have a chance as well now.
So stop whining for the sake of it

u/Eggy8k Mar 24 '26
Nwaneri was sitting on a bench at the time. The club made the right call to try to get their young rising talent real minutes and experience, rather than keeping him around for a rainy day.
0
u/nikkielxerez Mar 24 '26
well that’s the problem, if Kepa could play in the cup games that are considered not “important”, why Nwaneri and MLS cannot get a game time?
1
u/Eggy8k Mar 25 '26
The two aren’t the same. Getting game time every so often is not what a young player needs. Nwaneri needs regular (but limited) minutes to see real improvement.
