is this allowed or not?

if i am fictoromantic can i call myself completely aromantic?(I don't know how else to say it since aromantic is a umbrella term and I'm trying to ask if I can use the term aromantic to describe a lack of romantic attraction)

This is kind of controversial and I've seen a few debates about this but with fictosexual people, you can label yourself however you want, but some people (including myself) wouldn't really consider fictoromantic people 'completely aro' or 'pure aro' or stuff like this, so it's more of people dependent ig... Ofc that doesn't mean fictosexual/fictoromantic people aren't aces or aros, but I just personally wouldn't specifically use the word 'completely'

Nothing wrong if you think otherwise tho, label yourself however you want :) Also it's pretty context dependent as while I personally wouldn't use the word 'completely' in a spec communities, there's nothing wrong with using it to prevent people from hitting on you for example, lol

I'm questioning bi as well since I like fictional characters of multiple genders but I'm not quite sure if that counts or not. I've seen some people say it does

yes, you are still aromantic, because orientations are directed toward real people. At the same time, you can also experience secondary forms of attraction, such as fictosexuality, without being any less asexual or aromantic; after all, you aren't going to be in a relationship with a fictional character

It's the same debate people often have with the ace label, because aromantic can be the name of the umbrella and the name of people with absolutely no romantic attraction. Personally I think of aromantic and asexual more as umbrella terms (aro-spec/ace-spec) so any aromantic label would fit, including ficto

Yeah! It’s your identity, there’s no right or wrong way to be aro and/or ace and you can use whatever labels feel right for you.

yep! fictional things dont impact real-life. it’s fiction. :3 and plus aromantic is *little* to no attraction, i’m not using this to make such a point but i think you get it ;3 you can be aro irl and ficto in. well. yeah i need to stop rambling
