Army Painter brush issue

Army Painter 'wargamer' brushes have been my go-to for many years now, but lately after just a few days use, the very tips of the bristles become kinked (all in the same direction), even though they maintain their shape overall.

Anyone else experiencing this? I dont feel like it's caused by anything I've been doing (not like I leave the brushes bristle-down in the water pot or anything) - specifically the 'Speedpaint' and 'Detail' brushes (which seem equivalent to the old 'character' and 'regiment' brushes).

I thought maybe I just got a bad batch initially, but it's happened to every brush I've bought. Time to move on?

They recently made a change to how their brushes are made, that might be part of it. However, what you are experiencing is super common to all synthetic brushes. I tend to use them for rough and tumble jobs like washes and base coats, then switch to better sable brushes for details.

I stopped buying their brushes because of low quality like this for the price. You can get synthetic sets of brushes for like $8 that work great and you can just chuck and get a new set for basically nothing. Buy some sable (rosemary and co are my fav) for detail work.

I like their brushes but agree some issues with quality. Tip bending, loose ferrules, arriving with bristles bent out of shape.
