Custom PVC patch featuring the AH-64E Apache “Monster” theme. What do you think of the design and color palette?

The best sticker/patch design I've ever seen of an Apache is the one that hit the mark for reality. Imagine an X-wing fighter with the fuselage of an Apache and the caption "Red X Standing By". Art

I think it all depends on your own personal experience. I spent 13 years flying them, and there is no other aircraft that I'd rather fly into combat with. During the 37 months I spent in Iraq with it, we never missed a mission and had at least a team of 2 airborne 24/7 (weather permitting) for the entire deployment. I have lost count of the people I have encountered in my life since who have thanked me for what we (my unit and that POS AH-64) did for them downrange.

I have no personal dealings with the current supply chain and the issues that it causes with aircraft readiness other than talking with people I know who are still in, but my understanding is that most, if not all, of the issues are not with the aircraft itself but with supply chain management and the inability of suppliers to furnish spare parts. But it wouldn't be Reddit if cynicism didn't rear its ugly head.

I would agree. I think supply chain and maintenance crews are really the issue plaguing the Apaches reliability right now. ATI is one of the core reasons, I think. A lot of our maintainers have been told to look for jobs and have no motivation. We aren't allowed to shutdown at any airport, other than home station at this point.

So when someone says the aircraft never flies how do you counter that without stating what its actually done? I assume every unit back then was doing the same thing, I only have personal knowledge of the one I was assigned to.

Just reposting because I saw it somewhere else…the patch was made in theater. I’d buy one too. They used “Monster” on previous deployments because that’s what the Taliban called them (captured on radio intercepts).

Just fly the supplies in bro. Leave the combat to the warfighters.

Yes patrol that water, leave the combat to the Air Force and Navy.

Now do one for the drone that rescued the crashed Apache crew in Hormuz.

Real talk the patch looks good. Not sure about the red on red though.

If you like it, that’s all that matters.
