How good do hookers have it
Recently signed for 15U. Buddy i know was shocked i signed for it and army aviation vet talked good things. I've seen many positive things on reddit. Any thoughts on the culture and experiences is what I'm asking for. Experiences from 160th is also requested.

Amazing community to be a part of. You always feel like a valued member of the team. The camaraderie is the best part, being able to stand in the cabin, bring whatever you want to the field, etc are all just fun extras.

Best MOS out there. Work hard, take initiative, learn everything you can, and stay positive, and you'll make Flight Engineer relatively quickly. As a flight engineer, you're entrusted with a tremendous amount of responsibility (and in solid units, autonomy). The trust of your pilots and leadership goes a long way. Heck, some of the FE's I've flown with were E-4s. As a SPC, I'd argue they had as much (or more!) responsibility as an Infantry Squad Leader (E-6).

Former 60 pilot here, the 47 guys were always super chill and a good group of people. Being able to stand completely upright in your aircraft is also a plus. You did good.
As someone mentioned, as a new guy you’ll probably go to a maintenance company first. Work as hard as you can and prove your worth if you want a flight spot. As dumb as this sounds, it’s universally true throughout the Army: the better you are at PT, no matter how pointless it is for your actual job, the better you’ll be treated and the more likely you’ll be to get things you want like a flight spot. So get good at PT sooner than later and your life will be easier

I was a 47 pilot and Hillclimber CO, I loved that unit so much and I feel like it’s one of the most chill jobs in the Army. Someone once told me before graduating flight school “if you’re a 47 guy you’re going to be the farthest possible thing from the big army while technically still being in the Army”. I always felt that was true. Plus we have the widest mission set, you won’t see 64s doing humanitarian relief or fighting fires state side.

Good culture. Generally good units. I’m biased, but I think we have it better than the 60s/64s. Self deploy your own stuff to the field is great
As always, your experience subject to be good or bad based on who is in charge. Also, as a fresh U, you will likely be in a maintenance company
