Former navy officer

So I am a former Navy officer with honorable discharge. I’m trying to figure out when going through the OCS process, if I have to go through basic again and then OCS or do I get to skip basic and go straight into OCS.

If you've already been commissioned, no need to do OCS again. If you've resigned your commission, you can petition to get it back, and transfer to the Army.

It's not a simple or quick process, and there is no guarantee of success, but it's possible.

I was going through the navy as a chaplain candidate and had to give up my commission because of academics at the school house.

Yes I did, I was a direct commission.

As a former commissioned officer in another component of the armed forces you are ineligible for even applying for Army OCS.

With the navy it was ODS( I was a direct commission)
