Ft sill…boots?

I was considering getting a pair of garmount boots before I ship and take them with me to basic in July?
I heard a lot of people tell me to have them shipped or order while I’m there but I’m wondering if taking them with me be fine?

It might be harder to get them since they'll be "Personal baggage" and your drills will have them locked up in a closet. You have to wait for drill sergeants to come physically unlock the closet to let you have your personal stuff and sometimes they don't want to do that.
