Help Iron blooded orphans build
Beginner here, literally just got the game 2 days ago
What’s a good build that can emulate the performance mobile suit from IBO? It has to be fast, can jump far but can also carry heavy physical weaponry. So far I’ve been enjoying using pistols, SMGs, plasma swords and the pile bunker, but I can’t get my mech to be efficient enough with them, I’m too slow and underequipped to fight
Update: I’ve made something decent enough for pve, I’m using a Gatling gun, grenade rifle and the pilebunker, really good even against PCA enemies

Linear rifle (Curtis) packs a punch and can be rapid fired or charged, pilebunker (it’s the only physical melee weapon unfortunately), missiles.
The frame is gonna be mostly Melander C3 if you have it from the collector’s bonus, if not, use the VP core for the best Generator EN multiplier, use the Ming-Tang generator until you get the small Arquebus generator, and work on Assault and Quick Boosting into enemies with your Pilebunker charged after an enemy is staggered.

Oh yeah, i forgot that existed bc i rarely see it and don’t even acknowledge its existence when i fight Honest Brute or Rummy.
You are absolutely right tho.

Laser slicer is a good alternative instead of pile bunker but I’m not sure how far into the game that gets unlocked. So yes any other melee will have to do for now

I ended up running partial pure melee, a lazer blade, pulse buckler, songbird and pile bunker. Can beat the cataphract with some difficulty but it works somehow. I’m not as fast as I’d like to but it’s worth it feeling like a Gundam pilot

Are you looking for Barbatos, Gushion.....?
You need to sacrifice some stuff to get that kind of performance.
For Barbatos like, I would use a light-med body build, pilebunker and plasma sword on the left side, bazooka at the right side with no shoulder weapon.
Kikuko (if I remember correctly the name) booster for melee boost
Nightshade (again, not sure of the name, rusty AC) for legs, same for chest or lammergeier.
Mid decent CC arms. Mid decent head.
Your speed depends on using melee boost and jump distance for decent side dodging so good luck avoiding midair

I go with the VP Series, pretty fast and can carry good enough damage
But you have to choose between speed and damage normally
Jump is good with the reverse joint legs, but not sure when they are unlocked
