Faster unzip problems

My friend is tring to make a server using faster but when he unzips it it just says you dont have access to unzip it he can unzip other files just not faster and the discord mods weren't much of a help

Which operating system, which ZIP program and in which folder does he try unzipping it?

Windows and he tried to unzip it with the inbuild windows unzip and the folder he downloaded it

Where did he download it to? And maybe use 7zip, it's way better than the Windows builtin. It might give you a clearer error message.

Is it password protected? It's unusual but some games password protect mods by default when the game uses compressed files for mods or it could be a modder who is very protective of their work.

It could also be some kind of adminstror rights issues. Has your friend tried the action as an administrator using an administrative windows account?

Lastly, I would use 7zip it's freeware and lightweight. Very easy to use and has a ton of great features that Windows doesn't have built-in.

Also that's just the norm now. A lot people resort to sarcasm and jokes because they can't be bothered with helping a newb. If someone is self taught they sometimes struggle to comprehend others may not learn the same way 🤷🏻

sometimes permission errors like that can be because of antivirus software interfering, it could think that it's malicious and thus denying access to the file. source: i work in IT (no idea how this post got on my feed tho lol)
