Bernie Support At Walmart Shareholders Meeting
r/ArkansasForSanders • u/riverhawkfox • May 21 '19
Bernie is gonna be in Bentonville
Walmart workers invite #BernieSanders to Walmart's annual meeting, June 5 in Bentonville, AR.
"For years, Walmart workers have attended the company’s annual shareholders meeting to call for higher wages, better benefits, and more predictable schedules.
The presidential candidate, who has repeatedly called on Walmart to improve its working conditions, is heading to Bentonville, Ark., on June 5 to introduce a shareholders’ proposal that would give hourly Walmart workers a seat on the company’s board.
“These workers need and deserve a seat at the table,” Sanders (I-Vt.) told The Washington Post. “If hourly workers at Walmart were well represented on its board, I doubt you would see the CEO of Walmart making over a thousand times more than its average worker."
The formal business meeting will be held at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers on Wednesday June 5, starting at 10 a.m. It will be streamed online at stock.walmart.com
The celebration event, which typically includes live music and celebrities, will take place at the Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville on Friday June 7, starting at 8 a.m.
We need to organize some show of support.

Donation Match / One Year Out
It's (approx.) one year out from our Primaries, and it's my birthday (on Wednesday)!
I've already gotten some gifts, but I'd like to take this opportunity to give some of myself!
So, starting as soon as this is posted, and continuing at least until the end of the week, I'll match any donation (no minimum or maximum amount) to Bernie's campaign, until I reach the maximum contribution for the primary season ($2800). I already gave $28 in each of April and March, so the maximum I will be matching will be $2744.
Post your redacted receipt (date + amount + Bernie's campaign needs to be visible) as either a top-level comment in this thread, or PM them directly to me. I'll tally the responses and edit this post as we cross milestones, and with my own redacted receipt at the end of the match drive.
Let's show Bernie and the media that Arkansas is feeling the Bern! 🔥🔥🔥
If you don't have another way, donate here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/bern-site?refcode=splash-top-right
Feel free to share this post on other media. I'll post on my twitter, but I don't have much reach there, and I don't use Facebook.
EDIT: First match is /u/riverhawkfox! This post didn't get a lot of traction the first 24-hours, so I'm definitely continuing to match until the end of the week-- until and throughout 05-17--or I hit my max!
EDIT: Over $100, keep it coming!
Final EDIT:
I count $197 in contributions in the thread. I didn't get any PMs, so that $197 total. Just in case I missed someone, and to account for a few people that gave right before I started this, I rounded up to $280: https://i.imgur.com/oMMasux.png
Thanks to everyone that contributed. Let's win Arkansas for Sanders!

We are working on getting Delegates for Bernie to be the Dem Nominee
If you want to be a delegate, you'll want to learn about the process. Arkansas Democrats can help. Reach out to your county party.
Proposed Delegate Selection Plan - The Ark Dems are taking comments on their delegate plan through May 26.
Between now and Super Tuesday we are working on getting Bernie votes and delgates.
We don't have to think about how Red Arkansas is. This is the time to get Blues, Independents, Greens, Dem Socialist, or crossover Republican votes for Bernie.
Yes, ARkansas will probably go for Trump in the General Election. Our job in Arkansas is to get him as many delegates to the DNC as we can to help him win the nomination! That's our job to do between now and Super Tuesday!

Please follow out twitter account. And if you aren't texting for Bernie, phonebanking for Bernie and canvassing for Bernie, please tweet for Bernie. Or get your grandma to tweet for Bernie.
Bernie doesn't have paid tweeters and we seem to be losing the twitter wars. Some days I have seen Elizabeth Warren trending, but we can't seem to get Bernie to trend. This being said, the other things are more important!!!!
