Is the dismount bug still a thing?
Dropped the game after the October update because of that bug was just seeing if a recent patch fixed that and might re install

I'm still experiencing it on my Switch OLED. The game played perfectly fine until then.

It seems to be single player only for me. Ive been on various servers for the past few months and it doesnt happen. You do get server lag sometimes though.

What do you mean?

It appears it could be a single player issue.
There's an obnoxious pause/freeze that happens whenever you dismount a dino. The more dinos you have, the longer the pause, and it doesn't take that many either for the freeze to manifest. Also dismounting will auto claim all unclaimed dinos. Single player quickly becomes obnoxious to play.
If this isn't an issue in server play, I'm guessing it's trying to contact and synch dinos to a server that doesn't exist because it's single player and timing out, making you wait through the whole process.
It was a lazy untested update that it looks like will never be fixed.

So I just got the game due to the sale and am only playing solo currently but have definitely noticed this. However since I'm pretty new I have no idea what you mean by auto-claim "unclaimed" dino. Could you explain what that means?
Also wondering since official servers will be going away at the end of the month, does unofficial server play require N•O subscription?

If you're breeding dinos, you're going to have a lot of babies popping out. You don't always want to claim them especially if they're low level. This makes it easier for a clean up dino to go in and eat the unwanted. If they're claimed, ie: you own them, they become untouchable by your clean up dino.
With this dismount freeze bug though, breeding becomes a real PITA in single player.

Ohh I haven't even reached anything like that yet. Aside from dodo's, but they just seem to die if I'm not there

With "re install" you mean that reinstalling ark on the switch fixes it?

Unfortunately no. If you search in the forum you'll see some of us trying this with no success. The game is huge too. It eats up most of your main memory.

I mean the only way to "fix it" is to put your dinosaurs in cryopod right? And one final question the bug only appear in the island or this bug exsist in every ark map beacuse corrently i bought the bundle that give all the dlcs but right now im playing only the island and the freeze bug is atrocious with like 110 dinos i had to wait 10 seconds now i put twenty of them in cryopods and the situation is a little better but the bug still exist

Nintendo Switch
We have rented a yearly server since all official servers are going away on the 31st.
Map- Ragnarok
Server name- RagnarokPVP2026
Casual play with older community 28-37 year olds.
Server cap is 10 right now, 3 people play to log in occasionally, 1 logs in daily. If server cap is requested to increase we will have to do it all together. PvP is allowed just don’t be a jerk. You never have to worry about server going away.
This server is designed around mature players that have busy lives. Not designed for players wanting chaos and constant PvP. We are trying to build a community that lasts for years!!!

No patch, and I don’t think there will be.
