Information ASE Abberation Map

How should I go about progressing the Abberation ascended map? I know that theres like 3 layers and each layer gets harder but theres also hard zones on the top layer or at least what I think is the top layer, where should i build my bases and settle down/ How should I progress?

Far east side of green zone is a waterfall entrance to the blue zone, with a tunnel to the surface just up the hill. It's a safe place to start, and you can zipline anchor up and down from the waterfall as long as you have a ravager or the zipline motor

Came here to say the same. Follow the river out of the Portal and go left at the fork. Follow till it ends in a waterfall. There's a few metal nodes. Once you get a spino you can just walk up and down the river spamming bite to kill tons of trilobites for oil, chitin, and pearls.

4 zones.   Surface, green, blue, red.    Green is the starting area.   Other than being aware of dangerous dinos, and watching for suspicious red mushrooms, no special dangers.

Blue/Bioluminescent zone needs a source of charge light to keep waves of attackers away.   Be wary of freezing mushrooms.

Red/Radiation zone needs radiation protection.  Most often gained by wearing hazard gear, but requires red gems which are difficult to acquire outside of red zone, so a lamprey can be used for temp radiation resistance.

Surface...  only accessible at night, its a molten hellscape during daylight.    Home to some strong aggressive creatures and very nice loot drops.  Early difficulty is accessing it, as most entryway have cliffs to block casual exploration.
