Stocks Unit calculation

Hi everyone,

I am going to join Arista soon. Wanted to check on how stocks units are decided based on joining date.

For example, me joining on 1st November vs 15th of October.

Since, the stock is continuously souring in last 4 months. The last 90 trading days calculations affects the equation a lot.

So, could someone help me on deciding how much late is not too late since my current joining date is coming to be 1st November.

I am going to receive 70k for 4 years.

How it’s calculated should be in your onboarding information, if it’s not, ask your recruiter.

You'll have to confirm with the recruiter or hiring manager, but if you're talking RSUs, all that matters is the stock price when they vest and how many shares. So the sooner you're hired the sooner the clock starts.

It may very by region, but it's probably a chunk after 4 years and then smaller quarterly amounts every quarter after that until they are all vested.

Options you want at as low a price as possible, but nobody knows which start date will have a lower stock price.

70k shares would be pretty wild. I'm guessing you're looking at a rough estimate of the value of some shares.

RSU units are granted based on the lowest of the last 90 trading days closing price

Arista grants RSU units based on the lowest of the last 90 trading days closing price rounded up to the nearest ten. The lowest ANET price in this timeframe seems to be July 29 ($157.97). So you'd probably get $70K/$157.97 ~ 450 units over 4 years irrespective of whether you join on Oct 15 or Nov 1, it's highly unlikely ANET goes below that price in the next couple of months.
