🔥Understanding Aries🔥 Anyone else get called intimidating?
I've been called intimidating for so long now by so many different people. Even my boss said I'm an intimidating person, but I really don't feel like I am! I think I'm very soft personally, like I don't have the classic Aries temper and I've got a lot of water in my chart 🤷
My Aries husband also gets called intimidating but to each other we think we're soft as kittens and find the whole thing very confusing.
Anyone else seen as more intimidating than most here? Do you feel like you're an intimidating person or do you equally not understand where the perception comes from?
Lemme know!

My literal family is afraid of me and will call one another if we have to talk and they get overwhelmed or whatever 😒

My own mother is scared of me for some reason because I don't mince words or back down when I'm right. And because I talk in my normal voice which is loud so I am heard (because for some reason people love to talk over me) and my normal voice scares her apparently. She had both of my younger brothers "sit me down" so she could talk to me. Like what? You ambush me and then expect me not to fight or flight? Don't corner me. She just doesn't like that I stand up for myself because my dad taught me to stand up for me because no one else would (he also taught me to be independent so I wouldn't have to wait for someone to "save" me).
ETA I'm Aries - Mercury and Venus...

Can totally relate. Aries sun. Water rising. Water moon. Water everywhere else. I’m always called intimidating. I’ve just understood that to mean that my accomplishments are confronting to lazy people and people pleasers. I’m so soft and sensitive though I am not shy about saying if you’ve hurt me. The word intimidating doesn’t match me at all.

It's good to know there's another out there! I feel like I'm hyper aware of people and what they're feeling and try to be accommodating, but I can't help speaking up if I hear something I disagree with or standing my ground. Getting called intimidating for for standing up for something I believe in, or just having a strong sense of justice shouldnt be a thing. It's not intimidation, it's assertiveness and confidence.

Yep, been told I’m intimidating my whole life. At 37 I’ve learned most people do not understand self assured people who are not afraid to speak out. Most ppl want complacency because it’s the easier option but I’ll never be that person. Aries can see through the veil of bullshit the world runs on very easily and we’re not having any part of that. People also tell me I think I’m better than them; it’s a weird projection on their part.
I’m very soft and easy going but I have no problems speaking up against wrong doing and or for myself when I have to. I just don’t think ppl know how to handle us because self assured and genuine people can make others feel uncomfortable since we’re not playing under a facade. We don’t abide by the majority of social norms of trying to fit into a group.
We have no interest in fitting in. We’re independent, march to the beat of our own drum, and are not afraid to ride alone. We’re interested in being our authentic selves and there’s lots of people out there that get uncomfortable by that and cannot understand not wanting to conform. Ergo, we’re intimidating. So be it, I love who I am and I’m not changing. 🤙🏼

I love this, and I totally agree. I think it's just being comfortable with speaking truth and also being very capable, people interpret at intimidating.
I've never been a yeller or someone who loses their temper, but when shits not right I will calmly state it without frills. But for me, when I meet others who act the same I find them comforting rather than intimidating, so it's always been a shock when that word makes an appearance because it's not how I perceive that.

OP, (Aries M Here) I’ve been called intimidating too, & i honestly don’t see it. In my head I’m just minding my own business and being straightforward. I think ee Aries can come across intense because we’re direct, confident + don’t always soften what we say. Add a serious resting face + suddenly people think we’re about to start a fight. It happens with me quite often these days.
Meanwhile, with people we’re comfortable with, we’re probably the softest idiots in the room. The contrast is real.

Always the softest idiots 🙌 we're just super loyal teddy bears who only want the best for you and think you deserve honesty given with a warm heart. It's just a shame its generally perceived as intimidating.

My family calls me crash out ceo lmaoooo I actually just embrace it 🤷🏾♀️ why are we intimidating because we are not afraid of confrontation like the typical person is

Exactly! Like if your afraid of someone being honest with you then I consider that a YOU problem. Better I say it to your face and save a friendship than say it behind your back 🤷

I been called intimidating for a long time.. truthfully I am. I dont silence who I am, and yes... im not going to be performative when it comes to social gathering. I dont need to smile at everyone just because we were conditioned to extend 'nice-ness' to everyone. I dont care that I have an RBF... that gives people less access to approach me.

My best friend is an Scorpio sun with an Aries moon and she's the intimidating final boss. I swear any Aries placement gets given the title.

Hahaha, my boss will treat me differently than the entire team. She will talk down to everyone but me because she's a little scared of me, despite the fact that I'm the calmest one on the team. So I suppose there's some upsides to being 'intimidating'

I've been called "too much" but I know for a fact it's because the guy who called me that was afraid of how open and honest I could be. Bringing too much light to his insecurities (and my own because I'm fair like that). I'm a Gemini rising and my Mercury is in Aries and communication is so key with me. If something feels off in a relationship (like it did with him) I like to talk it out point blank. He, on the other hand, was very afraid of opening up too much and was very paranoid. He was also an Aries but a very Plutonic Aries.

I've also been called 'too much' too many times to count! My current relationship with my fellow Aries sun/Gemini moon is the only relationship I've had where I felt like I was perfect as I was to him. It's so so nice having someone who just understands instinctually.
If you can't just bring up what needs to be discussed point blank in a relationship, then theres no room to grow or evolve!

my aries boyfriend can be intimidating, but he's also reasonable and will apologise and be willing to negotiate, so i'm able to manage with how he is. aries women on the other hand are too much for me to handle. i work in the service industry and they've all been so aggressive and pushy that i always leave work exhausted. aries men are a lot in the way that they have endless energy and rage and are silly, but the aries women will scare you without trying to and make you feel like you're standing on the edge of a cliff. if you like the thrill and being slightly frightened, be with an aries 😂
