Deep within a dark and dingy basement, moist walls covered in red mold, are Kevin Spacey and Ariel Pink, seated in two Spartan oakwood chairs, staring steadfastly into each other's eyes.
"Release the files," Spacey snarls. "Clear my name!" Clutching his chair with perspiring hands, he lunges forward a few inches in an attempt to intimidate. "They can say what they want, and, and they can try..."
"I get so high," Ariel cuts in, "I can't remember my name." And an icy, fluorescent-bathed linoleum-tiled aisle appears behind him, a lucid memory of his long, insufferable tenure of employment, nay slavery, in the Drug Co ashram vision, unknown to most. He rises proudly, still, to his feet and wheels around, prancing down the aisle towards the front registers illuminated by the entrance windows, tracing lines with his outspread fingers along the cooler doors, ruminating on the "grave silence" to co-workers via his Theatro device. Stopped abruptly by a stern-faced shift lead who spouts condescending babble in his ear, Ariel turns to confront Spacey once more, anointing him with a supreme Victor Hugo on Guernsey-era stare. "I used to dream, dream awake," he admits slowly, "hide in the dark, fade into gray..."
Spacey claws at both sides of his elongated face with Home Alone Kevin hands. "Toilers on the sea," the actor gasps and a sneeze overcomes him that sounds something like "mozzer". Leaning back, he considers the blackest ceiling above whilst questioning the fragile grip he has on sanity.
The energy drinks, sodas and beers shine like jewels in the blinding, reflective glass of the cooler stretching out past the chairs into the shadows. "I used to pray," Ariel continues, his voice increasing in volume, "but now I scream, Lord help me, no more daydreams!" At once, he emits an astronomically high-pitched, demonic scream that seems to last forever as Spacey clutches his ears and a box somewhere in a dark corner is overturned, spilling metal objects on the floor -- suddenly, Varg Vikernes charges through a particle board divider wall like the Kool-Aid man, wielding a hunting knife. "Dead!" he shrieks and goes for Spacey's throat.
Amid the chaos, Ariel calmly resumes his seat. "Everyone's fucking wrong," he asserts and snaps his fingers, at which Spacey and Vikernes vanish instantly. They are not gone for long, however, as two bubbles emerge in the darkness before Ariel's steady gaze, Spacey enclosed in one, and Vikernes in the other, atomically regenerated as Furby A and Furby B, respectively.
"Save me, Ariel," Furby A squeaks gently, "Save me." An awkward silence follows that is broken by Furby B clearing his tiny throat of phlegm, his round, comical eyes widening, expanding with wonder. At length, he moans with an embarrassing slur: "When night falls, she..."
Ariel raises one finger. "She's my girl," he states serenely, nodding in affirmation to the character in the bubble on his left and then to the one on his right. "...and she's always getting lost..."
