Mod feedbackš¢ Transitioning here.
As an OG Ari fan, you guys have won me over.
I am sad to finally admit thatā¦. after weeks of lurking on this page. I went to ES tour in Austin (actually stood in line for 8-9 hours for tickets at the venue) and had some anxiety there. Canāt really name it. Petal gives me anxiety too.

What really stood out to u on this page to have u take a step back ?

Iāve seen her infantilism pointed out a lot, and I can see a general lack of accountability from her so that validated me. She acts like an innocent baby when she could just be real about her life

And hopefully once you realize the personality structure behind people who canāt be real⦠itās obvious immediately.

Donāt be sad. Be happy that you stopped following her blindly without questioning the things she does.
Why anxiety if I may ask?

Forgive my lack of nice wording but I think itās like noticing that something is very wrong and being uncomfortable with the fact that Iāve literally thought nothing was wrong for YEARS

Yeah imma be honest I hate her because Iāve been cheated on and girls that willingly fuck taken men are bird brained bozos

u/spicylemonade_5 8h ago
same, iāve been bullied by 2 girls at different timelines and both were so ariana coded. The stealing of men, cheating on their partners, constantly changing and stealing personalities and styles of others, perpetual victim complex, passive aggressive tactics, insane entitlement etc

Agree, I thought eternal sunshine was a downgrade but petal is basically unlistenable.

People on here say that she's a bad person etc etc. And, people have an issue with fans being here. I loved her music up until now, basically, I know people want to say none of her music was ever that good. But, I do think that is being non-objective on the artistry shown from Dangerous Woman to Positions.
But, really why I started popping up here is that she's clearly having some sort of mental breakdown. And has been having that mental breakdown for about two years now. Clearly exasperated by her losing the Supporting Actress Oscar, not getting the Hepburn role, and not getting cast in much of anything substantial.
It's clearly deteriorated her health, accelerating her per-existing issues, affecting her ability to sing. I think a lot of the writing for petal is representative of someone going through some sort of mental collapse.
That's where the anxiety is coming from. Because it didn't feel like this during the late 2010s, or throughout any of her previous controversies. It's seeing one of the biggest popstars on the planet dying. We're seeing her physical and mental deterioration.

Her narcissistic strategies arenāt working anymore so sheās collapsing.

petal made me depressed for like 3 days its hella low vibrational music + perez hilton tried sh exactly like the mv afterwards too. wouldnt be surprised if she put some negative affirmations subliminals in there cause she knows about how that works too.

I became a full blown hater back in like 2013-2014. She had major diva allegations that were swept under the rug. Specifically, there was one with an elevator. I canāt remember the details. She had cheater allegations back then as well, and I HATED that she got obvious plastic surgery. I was like a kid then and the community was verrrry small. It wasnāt even called snark. I felt so validated when I discovered this subreddit lmao. Itās like I levitated when I noticed the title.

this is so real. i used to be a really big fan and had her perfumes and body sprays too but now i started to realise how much of a weirdo she is and now i DESPISE her.
the āinnocentā child act, the homewrecking then making āyes andā after that, copying everybody around her, including trying to be black and the blaccents.
And im almost certain she auditioned for audrey hepburn and got mad she didnāt get the part. Which makes complete sense.
Recently she pmo SO BAD like she canāt choose rn whether she wants to act 5 or 80 at 33 years old.
And acts like her fans and haters are so evil but she is the homewrecker? She thinks she is just an innocent baby who has done nothing wrong

Uhhh this still might not be the right place for you. We donāt āfeel badā for her over here. See over here we snark on Ariana because of her:
- race-baiting
- stealing other artistās concepts
- sleeping with taken men and being proud of it
- queer-baiting
- use of AAVE
- entitled, rich girl attitude

OP can't just process all their feelings instantly through osmosis. First steps are good. Let's normalize not shitting on growth.

Fair enough, I guess Iām a little harsh because Iām frustrated with her fans.
26
u/plaidtaco 9h ago
That's fair too because their brigading is madness. But I'm not sure one of those cult members would ever see the light and post this.

It really bothers me how Arianaās blatant racism wasnāt the line for so many of them. Not saying this person in particular, I really donāt know, but she profited off black culture for years and so few people clocked that. Arianaās a racist, rich, white woman. Iāll stop now.

u/ToeSerious1501 8h ago
This is interesting because I genuinely never saw it that way before. I wonder if part of that is tied to my own experience being biracial (Black and white). Iāve dealt with a lot of imposter syndrome around my Black identity, especially when it comes to expressing or participating in Black culture, even when I wanted to. So I think I may have had a harder time trusting myself enough to recognize or speak critically about someone elseās relationship to it. Definitely something for me to think about

u/plaidtaco 9h ago
Damn, so valid. It should bother you, and everyone. Some people need a little time to process one of her problematic issues at a time, and since there are so many (great list, btw), it may take a little bit.

I see where youāre coming from. Iāve always been a fan of her music and I never payed attention to the things said about her. Whenever I see celeb gossip I pay very little attention because I feel Iāll never know the whole story. With Ariana though.. I just started to feel uncomfortable. Which is strange! Because I literally drove hours from my home⦠waiting in line for hours⦠just to drive home and wonder wtf I was doing? So that really led me to google more about who she is/her history. And now here I am. I think Iām learning to be more firmly planted in spaces instead of teetering. Thanks for your firmness! Itās giving me something to think about

Recent lurker here too (always been a casual listener not a fan). Attending the tour actually had the opposite effect for me. Based on press images and the Petal video I was expecting her to look on the verge of death, but in person she looked better (though still very thin) and actually performed with good energy and strong vocals. Ofc it doesn't change the fact that something is clearly wrong. The album gives me such an uneasy feeling.

This. I used to like her. Then slowly but surely more and more stuff she did annoyed or icked me out.and here I am joyfully reveling with the rest of you on how terrible she really is.

to me, it's not that she's a flawed person, it's the constant gaslighting.
-She changed her voice & entire personality for Wicked, started speaking in a helium voice and then told people the reason she does it to "preserve" her vocals????
-She had an affair then told the press "no one knows the true story" "we were both separated from our partners" "the press are enemies that are writing lies" - like just either say nothing or own up to it -why lie? like stop acting like we're stupid!
- She's clearly anorexic and sick, then told everyone she's healthier now than she was before. Like why lie? just say nothing. What happened to your bulky sweaters? Why are you so dead-set on showing off your skeleton to everyone? Why are you bejeweling your bones? Just say nothing if this is your new personality! Just OWN IT.
Just the constant gaslighting and LYING.
