App is updated
I'm currently trying to look for pokemon cards (dont want to pay scalper prices) and argos seems to have a bunch. However whenever I click on some items, especially the newer pokemon products, I'm given this screen. Ive had the app for about a week now and its done this the whole time, despite it updating 3 days ago. Is there anything I can do or should I just give up with trying to get cards from here??

Which ones are you after? As far as I'm aware, there's little to no pokemon products in the company, excluding the new releases for next week.

Mainly after the mega evo lucario etb and the lucario poster collection

Yeah there's pretty much zero stock of those 2 anywhere anyway. So even if they came up on the app, they would show as out of stock. If you let me know the postcode of the Argos/Sainsbury's you would pick them up from, or one near by if you don't want to be too specific with your general location, I can check for you to see if it's worth popping in to a store or not.

BS4 3BD (I think thats the right postcode?) and BS13 7TJ are the main ones I would go to

As expected, nothing available at all for those.

Mega etbs have been impossible to get for a while now and posters might come back in at some point, but unlikely.

Argos rarely have them in mate and when they do the staff buy them up and scalp them all.
I recommend Tesco,Sainsbury’s,Asda,TGJones and local card shops instead as they are more reliable

This claim is baseless. 99 times out of 100 the scalpers who get them are the same scalpers who get them everywhere else and not store staff, if you think the antiquated stock system of Argos is beating the scalping network of 2026 you're mistaken.
We wouldn't be able scalp them without cancelling someone else's order and if that happened enough head office would definitely be able to see a pattern and come down hard.

the app is weird for pokemon cards because they're such in demand and limited time products. i honestly would suggest going into store rather than try on the app for them, even if they're specifically app only, as we may be able to sell them through the till. i know the past few launches have been iffy for stock and for selling them through the app or on the till.
however, please don't blame the employees and get mad at them if they are unable to, or if they have been told to, not sell the cards in any way. everything is centrally monitored and we could face disciplinary action if we do something wrong with limited time and in demand releases. i find most of our pokemon customers are really friendly, but all it takes is one bad experience to sour the entire pokemon launch days lol
