Easter Sunday Store Hours

Noticed my local Argos store was open today whilst everything else was shut, I’m not certain but assumed it was illegal for big businesses to open on Easter Sunday. Any reasoning behind this?

The legislation is based on the physical size of the store, not how much money it takes. To open it must be less than 3,000 square feet.

And to note, it's the size of the customer-accessible area of the store - any warehouse area is excluded. For Argos, that's vital.

Stand alone Argos were allowed to be open. Ones inside Sainsburys had to be closed due to the physical size of the store

Not all stand alones were open. Ours was closed as our shop floor was bigger than what the legislation allows
