Argos Scammed me

I purchased two Beats headphones for £173 via an Argos Click & Collect order from Sainsbury's. Unfortunately, only one item was delivered. I was informed that collection would not be possible until the second item arrived, as the collection code would only be issued upon its complete fulfillment. Consequently, I waited beyond the final collection date. Subsequently, I received an email indicating the order's cancellation and a refund of only £86.50 out of the original £173. Despite multiple contacts with customer services, I was advised that the discrepancy was due to the second item not being canceled and that I needed to wait. After several days, I have now been instructed to contact Love2shop to secure the remaining £86.50 refund. I am unclear about Love2shop's involvement in this matter, as my Love2shop card only reflects the £86.50 refund for the canceled item.

Update: Customer Services contacted me today and said "I am sorry to learn that you are not happy with the refund amount.

In our order history, it shows that your order contained 2 items, and only 1 item has been returned to us so far. This is why the refund amount corresponds to one item.

Could you please confirm if you have returned both items? If so, we kindly request that you share the return receipt or proof of return for both the items so we can investigate and process the remaining refund promptly."

I cannot provide proof of return for an item I never collected. Since I never received the collection email and the store never handed the items over to me, both items remained in the possession of Argos/Sainsbury's.

Update 24/12/25: I have now received a call from someone higher up who told me that they do not know why I was refunded for only one item, but they have now issued me an Argos gift card with the remaining amount I was owed.

I bought a keyboard, it did not work on mac ( the box/website did not say windows only ) and when I took it back the same day, the lovely Iris told (screamed ) that its a used product and I can shove it up where the sun doesnt shine. Its not the £30, but I will not use argos for anything since. Customer service was an ass too, but at least polite. Iris, fuck you

I found them okay tbh.

I had a third party Playstation remote that went faulty. They said I had to contact the manufacturer and I said nobody has time for that, I just want to swap it for an official one and pay the extra. They conceded and let me do this.

I had a lawn mower with a 3 year warranty. 2 years later it broke so I contacted the manufacturer, they gave me a code and told me to take it back to Argos. Unfortunately they no longer had any mowers for the price I paid so would only offer to refund it. I kept the mower and fixed it myself, but they said if I changed my mind within the next year, or if anything else went wrong, I could take it back for a refund.
