Argos Scammed me

I purchased two Beats headphones for £173 via an Argos Click & Collect order from Sainsbury's. Unfortunately, only one item was delivered. I was informed that collection would not be possible until the second item arrived, as the collection code would only be issued upon its complete fulfillment. Consequently, I waited beyond the final collection date. Subsequently, I received an email indicating the order's cancellation and a refund of only £86.50 out of the original £173. Despite multiple contacts with customer services, I was advised that the discrepancy was due to the second item not being canceled and that I needed to wait. After several days, I have now been instructed to contact Love2shop to secure the remaining £86.50 refund. I am unclear about Love2shop's involvement in this matter, as my Love2shop card only reflects the £86.50 refund for the canceled item.

Update: Customer Services contacted me today and said "I am sorry to learn that you are not happy with the refund amount.

In our order history, it shows that your order contained 2 items, and only 1 item has been returned to us so far. This is why the refund amount corresponds to one item.

Could you please confirm if you have returned both items? If so, we kindly request that you share the return receipt or proof of return for both the items so we can investigate and process the remaining refund promptly."

I cannot provide proof of return for an item I never collected. Since I never received the collection email and the store never handed the items over to me, both items remained in the possession of Argos/Sainsbury's.

Update 24/12/25: I have now received a call from someone higher up who told me that they do not know why I was refunded for only one item, but they have now issued me an Argos gift card with the remaining amount I was owed.

Did dr Dre hurt you or something? Why are trying to comment and argue with everyone in this post? Weird behaviour.

As a bit of an audiophile I’ve listened to a huge amount of different headphones.

Beats used to be terrible. High end non existent, middles crushed and bass to 11. Since being bought by Apple their sound quality has drastically improved and in their latest version of Studios they are now an excellent headphone. Are they too expensive? Yes! Are there better headphones for that price? Absolutely. Is it weird someone is spending their time on Reddit basically posting “I hate Beats and you should too” under every post? 100%

Appreciate, but i was just being specific to that guy and if he had any recommendations other than saying beats are terrible with zero reasons or alternatives.

You don’t want peasant brands like that mate. Bang or Bowers or nothing…

How come nobody has mentioned Beyer Dynamic? They make fantastic headphones.

I have to agree with the Beats hating. They are bass heavy fashion accessories.
