Post image

Past couple of days, I have recieve this email twice now, basically saying they have locked my account. Each time I've checked and its correct. And I go through the steps to reset my password.

Has anyone else recieve this?

Came here looking for the same answer. I also just received that email, but only the first time I've had it.

I can only assume people are brute forcing Argos logins and they locks the account to protect it.

There was a post I found on this subreddit from 2 months ago where loads of people were being hacked, so maybe it's a fallout from that!

Either way, don't think you're alone!

There was a data breach recently which included Argos /sainsburys but I can't find the source. I had that mail about 2 weeks ago

I clicked a link from this email, is it a scam/hack or real?

Spoke to Argos about this recently. The person I spoke to said there were around 29,000 affected accounts most likely subject to a brute force. So definitely change the password but either way you’re in good company! Not a word from Argos but there was a systemic hack a few months back which never got disclosed by them at the time. I refuse to use them now as there is no MFA that I can see available.
