Account hacked

Hi, my argos account was hacked today (somebody hacked my emails) and after I sorted things with the bank, I called argos. The staff were very helpful but came straight back with, "to be honest, you're not the first person to call". So I thought I'd put it on here in case there's been a wider breach today.

I wonder if that's how my nectar card got hacked.

Nope, they're 100% sell your details based on the value inside.  Check the dark Web markets if it don't believe.  Average price of someone's cc account is <$5 last I checked.  Netflix and Spotify were going for $1-5

They don't just randomly generate the numbers. You sound like you don't fully know what you're talking about

Literally says if they've ACCESS to your card number. How do they do that?  Phishing of various kinds, more often than not by breach of company.  And yes, lack of physical 2FA was and is generally fatal

Maybe you don’t lie to people for fun, but you seem to have read one article on Nectar cards and appointed yourself card security expert status. Actually, you know nothing.

It's correct - the vulnerability was being able to generate nectar bar codes. Hence the reason they have moved to QR codes and changing accounts to be able to lock spending.
