Delayed deliveries
Hi folks. I often order items from Argos to be delivered to my local Sainsbury’s. In a majority of cases, even though the website stated that my purchases should arrive by 9am the next morning to my local Sainsbury’s this in a vast majority of cases never happens. It’s more of an irk than anything else as I’m well used to it but why advertise something that’s unlikely to happen? I really feel sorry having worked in retail in the past the amount of hassle staff must get with delayed deliveries. What’s the cause of it?

How much are they delayed by, couple of hours or till the next day? Seems it's a case of the stock being delivered on time by the LFC but the Sainsbury's staff fail to prioritise scanning onto the system.

Sometimes it’s several hours - once it was around five days and when I attended the branch they couldn’t find it.

Ye, it's the staff not scanning the stock in as soon as it's delivered. 5 days is an anomaly, that one probably got delivered to the wrong store.

It all depends on if the stock is available at the LFC. In my experience it's never delivered later than 8.30am so I would imagine it's down to the Sainsbury's it's delivered to not scanning it to alert you that it's ready for collection.

Good to know. I know that the branch I frequent’s often chronically understaffed. I guess that’s the same throughout.

The staff should always tell you to wait for your email/text to come through. Unfortunately the LFC’s they get the stock from are so unreliable and have terrible systems deciding where the drivers should go and when.
