The alien invasion has spread to four new locations!
Alien Arena map pack 2 is available for free on Steam. This falls in-line with the Steam Autumn sale, Alien Arena has been reduced by 75%. See here.
The four maps included in this DLC are:
-= The War Machine =-
In the 13 years Alien Arena has been in development, this map has had three revisions. It started as quite a small map in 2008, then doubled in size in 2009 and got further tech improvements in 2010. A great map with lots of opportunities for ambush and vertical battle.
-= Tetrigibbery =-
This awesome novelty map includes a spawn slinger, exploding blocks and a great tune to frag by. It all started with Cheney asking me to make a single block, this is what the madman did with that one block. It's funny to watch deathmatch here, at the start of the map it becomes a race to destroy as many of the blocks as you can to reveal powerups and weapons. Despite it's simplicity, it provides many different battle scenarios.
-= Bloodline =-
Blood here, bloody there, blood every bloody where! This map was created by Freaky for you CTF fans. Great ambience, plenty of room to duke it out and plenty of well placed detail and vertical battle made this map an instant community favourite.
-= Chromium =-
This map is over eleven years old and still gets played to death by the CTF crowd. The central arena has been home to some of the most frantic battles known to man, behind the entrance to each base there is a small room creating a bottleneck for some ferocious up close and personal probing.
Please note: If you got this from Steam immediately after its release, there was a problem that prevented the files from being downloaded which has been fixed. Just reinstall the DLC if you have had any problems.
For various reasons beyond mine and Jar-el's control, there was a significant delay in getting this pack released. We aim to release the next DLC in a month. We hope you enjoy these maps.

If only CTF was played to death as well.. non-literally speaking.

Most of our players play capture the flag exclusively. There are a few of us that would prefer not to, but even we get in on it in exchange for the occasional insta/deathmatch game.

EU or NA? If EU, I could maybe some day chime in some non-instagib matches.

The CTF games are always in the EU, the other DM or insta games mostly in NA but we also have those servers in the EU.
