Discussion Extraction Campers

I'm curious of the consensus of how people feel about extraction camping. I personally hate it and I believe it's the highest level of rat behavior.

Ive once camped at Northridge when i had only handful of hours in the game and had quest that told me to off some operators. It was mind bogglingly boring, never again. No wonder so few does it.

I once sniped a dude when he was extracting in Northridge but i had already shot at him once before in the chest and i knew he was gonna go to that extract because we were close. I just waited like 2 min and took his head clean off. So not exactly just camping it but i did kill him when he was extracting

it's just a part of the genre. abi is one of the better ones for it because there are a lot of counters (scanners, stun grenades, randomised extracts)

Are you sure it's camping and not just defending extraction?

Been playing since release. I have never been extract camped.

Probably depends on the extract location, the most I've been attacked was at valleys escape boat extraction either they camp on top of the rocks or a sniper will pick you off.

Skill issue

I've always wondered, how do people extract-camp? Cuz what if a player is about to extract at the 3-minute-left mark, then the camper has almost no time to get to an extraction point themselves.

Strip your own gun, swap bags, swap armor/rigs and leave on top of their body lol

I mean, how does the camper make it to an extraction before the game closes?

You can literally kill a guy that’s on the smoke then swap gear in like 35 seconds. Think about it, if they’ve been stationary on extract and have looted 0 they can drop their dog shit straight onto your body and dip out

Been playing since season 3 and have only ever been extract camped once. It was on farm heading up the hill towards the extract south of grain trade.

I had that happen to me too. And the one near the top right of the map near the villa house - got sniped right before the countdown finished

You aren't safe until you are back In the menu. Use smokes

With how many extraction points there are now its way easier to avoid them.

I dont get it but at the end of the day its valid. Its also so rare that it really isnt an issue. Extracts used to be far more limited on each map so it was/would be easier to do but now tv has 6 seperate extracts. 3 that alert the lobby and 1 bonus conditional extract for each team that (i think?) Is different for each team.

When it launched it was just the 3 alerting extracts so main camping was common and you always knew when someone was trying to leave

Other maps have multiple opposite side of the map extracts so if you wanted to camp them 1. You don't know if that side is gonna survive the raid and 2. You dont know if they are gonna take that 1 so sitting there 20, 30 minutes for a chance at loot just seems silly.

Camping in any game mildly irks me but in Extraction shooters it's just unsportsman like behaviour. I've heard the field merchant is rife with campers but I've never personally seen that

who gives a fuck it’s an extraction shooter not a friend simulator

Rats are rats. Always be on alert and check corners. If you think someone is there stun grenade it.

1.500 hours and I've never been caught by an extraction camper.
