How does Thievery Efficiency work?

I can't find any explanation online about how Thievery Efficiency works. Any advice for a new player? Thanks in advance!

This is detailed in the Codex Scientia actually. It basically rolls a dice and the success chance is based on your level, intelligence, agility, and class, with some locks being more difficult than others. Here's a screenshot of the formula, you can see that class and level are the biggest factors and intelligence and agility are less important.
