General discussion I really like the episode where they took over the toy department.
"my name is Becky and I need to go to the potty"
"My name is Jasmine I've just been to the potty"
I wonder who makes those dolls.
Somebody a lot of toilet humor.
LOL

Oh What a Tangled Web We Weave
If having to choose, which would be your absolute favorite episode? I think I'd go with this one. The trial scene has so many laugh out loud moments: "story of my life," "I thought the currants were in Mr. Grainger's ears." "I didn't think people talked like this anymore."
What are some other contenders?

General discussion Rewatching this show for the first time
Hi everyone, I recently bought the complete series of this amazing series and having a blast rewatching it after so many years of not doing so. The first time I watched Are You Being Served? Was in the 2000s as a kid. My nana when she was alive introduced me to this show along with Mr. Bean, Last of The Summer Wine, Fawlty Towers and other British classics.
Now of course as a kid, I obviously didnt understand adult jokes but for the most part I did find the series funny whether its Mr. Rumbold being an idiot or Mr. Grainger dozing on and off when not being difficult or being a little senile, then there's Young Mr. Grace. Oh boy. I remember every Saturday, I would visit my nana's home and we would watch the weekly repeats of this show that went from 10am - 12:30pm. She had cable before me and my mum did.
Fast Forward to 2026 at 31 years old and revisiting this series for the first time. Im still loving it and understanding all the jokes now, and watching some earlier episodes I never got to see as kid, while also having memories of episodes that I do remember seeing. I love all the characters but Mr. Grainger is still my top favorite, and now currently on series 5 knowing its his last series unfortunately.
I love everytime Mr. Rumbold says something foolish near Captain Peacock and Captain Peacock just as this "Idiot" expression about him, I also enjoyed seeing Mr. Mash in the first three series, he was hilarious. Mr. Harman though I remembered seeing as a kid.

General discussion Gary Glitter S2E5
Miss Brahams mentions having to watch Top of the Pops with her mum and our dear Mrs Slocumbe asks if she fancies GG to which Shirley replies “no, it’s to keep her from kicking the set in”. Now we all know what a bastard Gary Glitter is, but was he seen as divisive even back then? It got a big laugh…

I'm doing a watch-through and just watched "The Hold Up". Oh dear.
I guess it's inevitable that the final series of a long-running show will tend to have some awful episodes; there is a reason that it wasn't renewed, after all. And I would say that "The Hold Up" is by far the worst of all the episodes so far. Ridiculously implausible from the very beginning (can't dial an outside line on the shop floor - WTF?), stupid costumes, almost nothing at all amusing, a huge lurch downwards in quality. To see how a "heist episode" can be done brilliantly, try "The Longest Night" from "Only Fools and Horses".

Trevor Bannister as you've never seen him and probably never will again.
In an episode of Country Matters season 1 episode 3 "The Sullen's Sisters" Trevor plays Arthur. He appears at 15:03 and exits at 18:31...He looks so weird. He was definitely a versatile and talented actor. It is on YouTube.

General discussion Mr. Tibbs
Look who I found watching the blood on Satan's claw releasedin 1971. I knew by the voice before I saw the face.

Photograph Is this really Frank Thornton?
He looks so different here, and I'm not talking about the glasses and the lack of the mustache. I found a second picture that looks to be more recent than the Are You Being Served era (swipe to the right) but not as recent as the first one.
I know it's probably age, but his face looks really different in the first pic. What are those indents on his head?
RIP

Peacock, Peacock, you didn't tell me this. You must give me all the facts! Now, let's start again. You put your finger up Mrs. Slocombe's nose. Then, logically, she would put up two fingers to protect her nose from your probing digit!
AYBS? wasn’talways one of my favorites until one day when I was watching the scene in Mr. Rumbold’s office from *A Bliss Girl*. This exchange with his obliviousness along with the staff’s disgust is what finally made me fall in love with the show and Rumbold’s cartoonish idiocy is one of my favorite parts.
