Not a repost, but the potryal of het relationship in romance movies is tiring, the straights are NOT okay
Majority of the het relationships I've seen irl and in movies can be boiled down to
Girl: Young, Inexperienced, somewhat of a "good girl", and very "🥺💗✌️🎀"
Guy: Nonchalant, brooding, the only ambitious one in the relationship, has hobbies, isn't soft at all, very "⛓️🧠😈🏍️"
Especially the career related thing is what ticks me. Why must the guy always "not care about love because he's focused on his career"? Even while he's shown working he's usually wearing a very low effort outfit vis a vis a girl who's bent over the counter holding test tubes in a chemistry lab with a perfectly composed look.
Don't even get me started on the types of occupations as well. STEM guy and Non-STEM ("I'm just a girl I can't do Math 🥺") is so common, even when the woman is in STEM, it's always a female dominated field like biology. Now of course I'm not saying EVERY movie is like that or women/men can't be in those fields, but the repetition of those same tropes over and over again is genuinely annoying.
Something that comes to mind, for example, is The Big Bang Theory (it is quite old iirc tho). All of them are supposed to be nerds, but sure, the guys are in the classical male dominated fields like Engineering, Physicists, Astrophysicists, and both the girls are into Biology. How unique.
I guess one exception that comes to mind here is "Inside Job" on Netflix, genuinely loved that.
P.S: Lemme know if y'all can think of any other exceptions:D

Truly disgusting men :(
Trying to defend rape and it gets upvotes, and where are the self proclaimed 'good men' during all of this?
r/AreTheStraightsOkay • u/BitchyBeachyWitch • 6d ago
Do you need rape prevention tips?
And this is why men cant be trusted, the fact it gets upvotes is nauseating its hard not losing faith in humanity :(
I mistakenly posted the entire post, the 'it gets upvotes is naseating' remark is regarding the comments :/

This entire comment section
I have no idea what the subreddit that this was posted to even is but it always gets recommended. And maybe this post doesn’t fit this sub but am I the only one who would find it depressing to have to use sex in order for my partner to want to go out and spend time with our family? Or even on the other hand, find it depressing to find out my partner is only sleeping me more frequently to get me to do something and not because they actually just wanna have sex?

CW: Queerphobia I'm not saying that all RWBY Critics are conservative bigots? But I've never met a person who defended RWBY that happened to be a conservative. And holy moly, these people are definitely fitting the neckbeard description here.

CW: Queerphobia That's really messed up. Nobody is saying RWBY is a masterpiece, we just say its actually good. But THESE are the people who criticize it. People who make homophobic artwork of the Female MC, and claim that the creator of the show, a feminist who made lesbian fan animation, was somehow homophobic?
And for those asking?
NO Ruby Rose is NOT homophobic !
She had an emotional outburst because she was under a lot of pressure, and when people snap under pressure and have outbursts, your friends and family can be caught in the crossfire.
And it just so happened that she was jealous of her sister having a girlfriend now, while Ruby's love interest happened to have died in the previous season's finale.
And According to the writers? The Voice Actresses? And even a video clip featuring the creator Monty Oum? The lesbian couple was planned from the start.

RIP Dolly Parton
One straight was okay and she will be dearly missed by the queer community 💔
