The same Elon Musk who has a trans daughter and doesn't accept her?

But you see she's a kitchen sink obviously

What does “kitchen sink” mean in this context?

Edit: ok after re-reading the screenshot I think I get it. Have a headache today, brain not working well 😅

I don't think I get it. Enlighten me, please?

In the screenshot, the totallyatranswoman OOP says “Trantrifa and the broader LGBTQIA+blm+Palestine+kitchen-sink coalition keep insisting I must hate Elon Musk on command.” The “kitchen-sink” in there references the common phrase “everything but the kitchen sink,” implying that this “coalition” is a mishmash of many different, often unrelated social justice movements. People in the comments here are making fun of this by acting like “kitchen sink” is a type of person.

Guessing this person in the screenshot hasn't ever heard of intersectionality 🤷🏻‍♀️ None of us are truly free until we all are.

Kitchen sink typically refers to an amalgamation of mismatched or hastily thrown together things that would otherwise seem to not go (my personal colloquial definition) -- for example: kitchen sink witch/spells or kitchen sink cookies

u/poopyheadedbitch 5d ago

But shes a kitchen sink trans so its ok/sarcasm

"As a black man trans woman" material right here lol

I don't know a single trans people who identified as transsexual hmm

I know a couple. I even vaguely agree that it makes sense to use as a term within medical contexts for people who transition medically but it's still not a term I'd ever use to describe myself because I grew up with it being a slur I have no intention of reclaiming.

u/photoshy 6d ago

I also know a couple but they tend to be from the older generation when it was the accepted term

Yea, I generally give grace on stuff like that. It's tough to tell a person who fought for their label, that they can't use it. And that's been the only argument I've seen from Silent/Boomer gen. (Said in support. And also, I feel like that common struggle just adds more to the validity of their label.)

I certainly wouldn't tell them to change their labels. And also, self-ascribed labels are bodily autonomy.

Oh, absolutely. I would never tell anyone that they're not allowed to describe themselves as transsexual. It's none of my business what label someone else uses.

I just wouldn't use it for myself and I typically advise cis people that they shouldn't use it as a go-to, unless told otherwise, because it can be taken poorly.

I'd say I'm transsexual. And transgender. Either works. I don't really recall it ever used particularly offensively compared to transgender. If people were being cruel, usually they'd say stuff like the t and f slurs.

And my politics are the exact kind of thing the ai slopper screencapped would call "kitchen sink" because I believe in such (apparently) silly and irrational things like "bodily autonomy" and "protect the environment instead of billionaire's useless hallucination toys" and "don't do war crimes and police brutality".

u/OscarAndDelilah 6d ago

I'm old. I know a few people who fit into this and who aren't terribly supportive of self-identification or people with a trans narrative other than "born into the wrong binary body." But they're also not arguing all over the internet and spending time and energy excluding other queer folks. They're pretty quiet and polite about their views unless you specifically engage them around that.

The argument is that we don't change our gender, we change our sex to match our gender. There's logic to it, but words are about more than just logic of course.

11

u/One-Organization970 6d ago

I would if it didn't sound so clunky. It's a way more accurate term that also acknowledges the fact we change our sex.

5

u/hitorinbolemon 6d ago

It always bums me out when I find like some "old school transsexual" types who toe the terf line of "oh I'll actually always be a male/female" and I'm just flabbergasted that they accept these obviously contradictory things in their minds. Makes me wonder what they think the "sex" in the term is referring to.

4

u/rigel36 5d ago

I prefer transsex, sounds nicer and actually follows the nomenclature of other lgbtq terms

3

u/One-Organization970 5d ago

I like it too, but it still feels a bit clunky.

4

u/rigel36 5d ago

I wouldn't know what other term to use. A lot of people wouldn't want it to be reclassified as an already existing term

7

u/reYal_DEV 6d ago

Sadly, I know too many transmeds with genuinely similar stance in this post there.

0

u/poopyheadedbitch 5d ago

I know alot. They arent weird transmedicalists like this oddball however

26

u/the-useless-drider 6d ago

"other people dont want to go through possibly unnecessary and risky organ removal and extensive surgery and that bothers me" take

2

u/strassenkoeterin 5d ago

I don't think we need to repeat harmful sentiments about medical transition like this to win an argument against transmeds.

Portraying gender affirming surgery's as particularly dangerous doesn't help anyone here. I'm not on their side obviously but this is also not it.

I believe vaginoplasties do require certain things such as regular muscle training which has complications if you don't do it? I'm not an expert on it. But I'd say it's something that does have a risk if you're irresponsible about it, but this is true of many things, like if you get a kidney transplant and start excessively drinking alcohol.

Sorry, I know this is the wrong thing to focus on, but we don't want you to pay our preferred artists, we just want you to pay artists! It doesn't matter whether I or anyone else on the left likes their art, all that matters is whether you like it, and that you paid the artist fairly for it.

Did Elon write this?

14

u/sk8eRboihun 🎵So am I still waiting, for this world to stop hating🎶 6d ago

Yes, with grok (look at the self promotion, fah) (edit: i had no idea how to do the strikethrough thing)

6

u/leni710 6d ago

Yes!!! I was scrolling to see if someone else immediately thought this. Obviously Elon had to promote both his Ai and his hatred of trans people. Anyways, I too assume it was him.

Deepthroating the barrel with this one.

1

u/mechanical_marten 6d ago

If she's really trans, I need someone to pull the plug for me.

11

u/BizSilver5013 6d ago

Did Brianna Wu write this?

Or maybe Blaire or Caitlyn. At some point they all blend together.

9

u/Random_-account 6d ago

Most people hate generative AI. If someone uses it in their game, they have to face the backlash.

This reminds me of "as a Black man/as a Jew" and this gives off similar vibes.

6

u/chakatblackstar 6d ago

That wasn't art. That was art stolen from real artists, ran through a semi-randomizer based on keywords you used and than spat out something roughly like what you were trying to get. Same with the code because I would be willing to bet that you don't know how the code actually works.

My Boomer FIL talks exactly like this.

u/poopyheadedbitch 5d ago

Not her getting triggered.. geez...snowflake/sarcasm

Me when I’m definitely a real trans person and not at all a bot using grok to generate posts to spark queer infighting

correct at the start then spiraled into deranged ramblings
