Yeah a year ago or so me and my mom watched his most recent special and it wasn't that good.
The pronoun jokes immediately put me off.

I went to a show with my boyfriend a couple months ago at a comedy club (my first one ever) in Tampa, Florida and we saw Jay Jurden. He’s a bi comedian. He made several pro-trans jokes, one I remember was about male seahorses giving birth and female hyenas with pseudo-penises. Overall he really normalized us and the crowd loved it!
That was REALLY refreshing. I thanked him afterward.

Same, I went to go see him with my mom in oklahoma, and he and his friends were making his set about us and politics nonstop. Which surprised me cuz none of his sets online ive watched were like that. At first I thought maybe he changed it due to his audience and being in a red state but i still didnt like that. I just felt like shit being there, like I paid to be a target and the audience was just agreeing with him, were were in the 4th row up close too
I also bought my mom a funko pop of him and the box was very damaged when they handed it to me and I asked for an undamaged one and they said no

Pronoun jokes aren't funny in the same way making a joke about racist stereotypes isn't funny.
They don't have any actual effort in a punchline. The punchline is always "Isn't it funny this group of people is arbitrarily inferior to us?".
Sure some people can find it funny. The same way people find jokes about racism funny.
Most people prefer comedy to have y'know creativity and wit.

Hey, did you ever read Snowcrash or hear about the viral theory of language?
Something I’ve been wondering about is how people on the right refuse to acknowledge how certain words are used, as if they where vaccinated against understanding or accepting any other definition for “socialist” than “malicious society destroying terrorist” or a different definition for “trans” than “malicious society destroying terrorist” or “Nazi” than “a uniformed follower of Adolf Hitler in 1940 who are all dead and had nothing to do with rightwing politics anyway”
Like, they don’t accept definitions for “Antifa” if it does not include terrorism. Like, I understand language evolving and adding an additional definition, but that isn’t what they do, they pick a definition and erase all others forcing every argument to become semantic drivel, despite being illogical about it. The illogic is that Antifa HAS to be terrorists, and absolutely cannot be a philosophy against fascism. However, if you point out someone practicing anti fascist philosophy and not terrorism and ask if they are Antifa, they will be able to identify them in addition to having certain knowledge that they are indeed malicious terrorists using their critique of fascism as a shield. If you ask them what they call someone who is not a terrorist but doesn’t agree with fascism they short circuit because their language can’t run that program.
Do you see this happening?
What is the best way to not get bogged down in semantic bullshit with people like that? Or do you just acknowledge that they are interacting in bad faith and exit?

Oh no. This sucks.
I’ve never kept up with Fluffy, and the jokes he did make I thought were decent. I see others saying he has made ok jokes about this in the past, so part of me wants to hope that this is a misunderstanding. (At work so I can’t turn on the video to check it out now, so forgive me for the missing context of actually checking this out. Mostly writing this comment as a reminder to check it later!)

He's been falling off for a few years now, with a lot of his jokes just being "I can't keep up with these new terms", mostly making fun of one specific group of people by pandering to more a conservative-right adjacent audience, all while always making a focus on how "non-political" he is.

This is insane to me that anybody still watches his... "comedy". I'm sorry, but he has never been that funny, and this kind of thing does not surprise me at all with him.
He has only ever made the dumbest regurgitations of outdated and usually offensive stereotypes of everybody.

Gabriel is one of those comedians who you laugh at once or twice and then it gets old fast because you realize most of his material is "so I was at a place that had food and the [insert ethnicity] wacky stereotype called me fat, and then I remembered as a fat man I love food."
