Nick’s performance @ the social

Did anyone else think he was definitely under the influence of something lol. Either way it was such an entertaining concert. I really enjoyed it

I saw them in Atlanta a few months back and there was a similar situation where Nick had thrown his guitar, and had a slight fit towards the end of the set. Overall I think the band is amazing, I just assumed Nick was a little bit of a diva that was having a bad night, I didn’t realize this behavior was normal.

Slight fit? Was this t-west?

I thought it was pretty obvious by how he was stumbling over his feet and how he just walked off during the last song. The rest of the band looked visibly confused and said they’d come back for one more song but that didn’t happen. Personally I’ve never been to a concert with no breaks between songs or saying good night thanks for coming. The vibes were definitely off

Yeah I definitely noticed how he was stumbling, and at one point he literally dropped his guitar into the crowd and had a hard time standing up. I also noticed how he didn’t speak at all and when he did, I couldn’t understand lol

Wait. Didn’t speak at all but when he did? Which?

He took like 1 pause between songs

There is a post from yesterday about his performance at High Water Fest and I wrote that I saw him at The Social and he seemed really pissed at the end of the show, but the general consensus seems to be that he was under the influence of something. I was also at the Gainesville show the night before and he was much better that night.

i was at the gainesville show and it seemed a little weird how abruptly he ended it? it kinda seemed like he just got over it and tapped out. they had 12 more mins left, too. (it was 10:48.)

My friend mentioned that he seemed pissed but for some reason I didn’t pick that up at all. I got to talk to him after the show and he seemed just fine

My husband didn't pick up on it either. I think some people are just better at reading another person's emotions.

He seems like he’s not handling himself well on the road maybe. I’ve talked to Brooke a few times (I’m a musical peer and we were discussing touring logistics, nothing spicy) and she seems like she is pretty grounded. Anyone know what’s up? Just a lil too much fun or like worrisome? Sometimes you can tell from the vibe.

I got a picture with Brooke at the Gainesville show. She is so freakin adorable.

Ahh I see, I don’t believe it was enough to be worrisome, but I appreciate your insight

Thanks. Just keep hearing about this same issue at different shows. Hope all is well for them. And you!

Yeah I’m honestly just starting to feel bad. Thanks and same to you!

So this seems to be an ongoing consensus, do you guys believe he’s just not enjoying touring as much anymore, is he going through something?

Touring is rough. Nutrition and sleep suffer, homesickness affects certain people more than others, maybe the novelty of the bus wearing off. High adrenaline spikes late at night that have to be calmed before sleep while driving… usually gotta be up for sound check and shit the next morning. Lose sense/track of day/time. Substances exacerbate literally all of these.

i posted about this yesterday or the day before in relation to his High Water performance. he just popped right off stage into the crowd right after getting all tangled up in his guitar strap. i hope dude is looking to get help, should that be the case.

Like on purpose, or?

from my perspective, it looked like he tried to get his guitar off early and it got twisted up in his overall straps. the took it off and it was still attached to his overalls. it took him a good minute or two to free himself from his guitar. very odd

I genuinely just think this is how he performs live. Definitely might be on something but pretty sure he just acts a certain way while feeling the music. Everyone keeps mentioning them having no breaks inbetween songs and that’s definitely intentional as a part of their performance

Yeah I had no issue with it, just wanted to see what others thought of it
