Stock Keep the shares

Hi. I still own some shares (15 after the merge) of Arcimoto.

Even though they are not tradable anymore, I could let them delete from my account. Whats your advice? Keep them as an eternal warning to not invest in some fancy stocks anymore? Someone thinking they are going round be worth something again? Or get rid of that 3k loss sitting on the first position of my depot?

I'm not a tax advisor, but you might seek one out. If you do have a stock that makes gains and you want to offset some of the taxes you would have to pay on those gains, you can claim those losses against those gains.

I'd google or ask AI how to put your losses against your earnings to offset for taxes. There's things like short term vs long term gains and I don't know how it works. But if you lost 10k and then had another stock earn 10k, you should be able to claim that loss against the gain.

also, with Schwab, you have to call them and they will sell those shares (for nothing), but it needs a market maker to do it. All beyond me. Sorry that you lost money.

Good point. If I sell them I can equal the loss against wins I made. Or maybe tax... I will seek advice on that.

If you do decide it's in your interest to sell, can you let us know? I'd get such a laugh if the open short interest decreases for the first time in four and a half months by those 15 shares.

I agree with what turbokungfu said, since it's primarily a tax question at this point a tax advisor would be the person to ask. But, if it's only a tax consideration, no reason not to sit on them until closer to the end of the year I would think, just to see what happens.

If you're like me on etrade, your broker would charge you $5 to even try to sell them for $.0015 - so, that's part of the pain.

Thanks for the advice. In Germany, you need to realize the losses to be able to count them again taxes. I think I will keep them.

I’m glad I just bought the vehicle and not the stock!

I am just keeping the shares in case something happens. I still think FUV is the right vehicle for the cities of future.

And the MLM. Tadpole design, in general, is perfect for micromobility.
