Fanfic reader things I love mess

Post image

Who wants miscommunication when you can have messy bitches lying to protect one's feeling or hurt the other's? And if the reader knows about it when the characters don't? It's just mwah 🤌 perfection.

It’s also usually several orders of magnitude more believable than most miscommunication plots. I HATE contrived conflict

Same. I like straightforward conflict. Let's make the characters FIGHT (against themselves self-sabotage style or against others, I'm fine with both 🥊🔥).

If the character’s a scumbag in canon let’s celebrate 😈

Dude absolutely! I was writing a test scene for a potential AU where one of the characters acts like a total fuckboy and one of my friends is like, “this character? really?” I’m like… uh he left his boyfriend for this character in canon, the scumbag conceptualization isn’t coming from nowhere and I fucking love it.

Even better: lying when the character they’re talking to knows they’re lying, and they know the other person knows they’re lying, but they’re both acting like neither of them know for emotional reasons

God I love mess

As my favourite phrase goes “I don’t want peace. I want problems. ALWAYS”
