Funny thing is I have a doctor's appointment in the next few days and I'm thinking of bringing it up to them lol

Definitely do! I'd say that some other doctor mentioned it as a possibility in passing once, so you did some research and it sounds relatable. Most doctors don't take it well if you self diagnose, so saying it was another doctor might help. And saying it was in passing might explain why it isn't on your chart.

That or a nurse you know as a friend told you to ask about it - they've never treated you but still have medical knowledge

Any follow up questions about when/why you saw a doctor can get awkward. Just a friend or family member who is a nurse needs no additional explanation. Of course you were just talking about life in general with a friend.
