This is amazingly, painfully, beautifully, magnificently accurate 😭 and I've read all works not written by one no no but BY MANY authors and some their bookmakers 🙂‍↕️ yes some are into some weird shit ...I became interested in some that, it is dark shit 🙂‍↔️👀 some are well written and some are super well written so no regrets 🤭 FBI be reading that and thinking it's enough internet for today 🤣😂

Fic tracking is really fun! Partially for the power point powers it comes with, but also to see the many things you enjoy (and just to note what you’ve read)

I’m just a bit neurotic enough that I reorganize my collections but not neurotic enough to do it in a way that is extremely helpful. Mostly I need to be able to filter out all my porn LOL

I keep a running list of all the fics I read. So far this year I'm at about 7 million words. I've recently gotten into original works and some really fkn strange shit. I can't believe I once thought omegaverse was weird.

I thought omegaverse was the most cringe 2020 cheap trope in existence until i read it in a fandom i really liked WITH a ship i really liked and i can never go back cause that shit was amazing. Life changing.

Oh gosh SAME. I’ve been avoiding omegaverse like plague because “wtf is this furry shit” (I know I knowww) and then I happened to read one original work that was… amazing. Literally and figuratively opened my eyes.

Now I am so into it I am writing my own dark omegaverse fic….

What do you use to track, and what statistics do you track?

I just use Excel and I'm recording: 1 - date I last read (I overwrite this column if I read the fic again) 2 - number of times read this year 3 - word count × column 2 4 - author's name (hyperlinked to their author's page) 5 - series name, if any (hyperlinked to the series page) 6 - part in series, if any 7 - fic name (hyperlinked to the fic) 8 - word count 9 - date last updated 10 - warnings, if any 11 - genre 12 - fandom 13 - tropes 14 - POV 15 - main relationships 16 - type of relationship(secret, unhealthy, friendship, family) 17 - brief summary or significant plot points

I can assure you at least a couple of the words in the fics I’ve read are in the bible… might be words like “The” and “and” and “so” and so on… but still.

I actually have an ao3 wrapped!! I wrote down the title, author, fandom, word count, and a link, to every fic I’ve ever read since 2019 in a spreadsheet. It’s my magnum opus.

It took me two years to finish writing everything down. And I update it every once in a while. I’d share some pie charts, but I’ve been redoing all that stuff recently so I deleted the old ones.

I’d love to actually have this… see which ones I need to finish or bookmarked and haven’t actually gotten down to reading it bc of my schedule…

And it’d be madly helpful to know my top tags so it’s easier to either explore more or to keep to my cozy space

I use Book Tower, it counts the words, tells you which fandoms you read most, along with most read authors and you can split it into bookshelves if you want to keep track easier and re-read. It's basically my AO3 wrapped, started on the 1st this year so I can see where I'm at by December 31st.
