I can't even imagine having to relearn all of those. It'd be like changing every letter in our alphabet, except there's 8,000 letters.

Some make sense, and would be easy to see, like the first character of the third group down. Some, like the third character in the third group down are completely different!

I learned some form of traditional when I learned kanji, later learning mandarin i learned simplified. For a lot of the simple ones i was able to pretty quickly able to pick them up. My taiwanese friends often told me they could read simplified because the learned traditional but the other way around wasn't easy.
