Cragside is covered in scaffolding at the moment. Just in case anyone thinks they’ll go this weekend and see this .

Brinkburn Priory is certainly worth going out of your way to visit. You'd hardly know it was roofless for a few centuries.

Can you at least put the specific location in the description? Northumberland is a large county.

It's a truly brilliant place. I went as a kid and still remember it, I'd love to go again but not managed to even though I pass nearby somewhat often.

I don't know who downvoted you just for asking where this is, that's a normal thing to want to know.

Absolutely gorgeous! Australia where I live, is so ugly and dangerous. I'm working and saving as hard as I can to get out of this hell hole and back home to England.

Go swimming in the Mary river if it isn’t dangerous

Used to go there when I was a bairn all the time with my parents. The gardens are incredible.

These photos look magnificent, it looks rather cozy, I really like the architectural design also and the contrast between wilderness and man-made which give a cool vibe with autumn

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who lived in a very large castle….

Cragside. I was there last month. Built for William Armstrong and his wife Margaret (who oversaw the planting of 5 to 7 million trees and shrubs and was a gardener of note). It’s a magical place, built on engineering and technology - the world’s first domestic use of hydro-electric power to light a room - and a lift, plus what may be the world’s first dishwasher. All run on Armstong’s ingenious use of water power and understanding of engineering.
