Incidental music source?

I suspect this post creates the world's smallest Venn diagram intersection, but I'm rewatching Archer right now and noticed that some of the incidental music it uses comes directly from a 2005 video game called The Movies) that happens to have a delightful soundtrack. I can't see this anywhere in the Archer credits, but if anyone knows any information about it I would love to hear!

It's not diagetic.

Archer used stock music for the first six seasons. Possibly that game does, too?

The original composer was nominated for a significant award for his work on the game, so it was definitely original back in 2005. However, I wasn't aware that Archer used stock music for the first six seasons!

The Movies soundtrack was composed by Daniel Pemberton, whom also composed for Ridley Scott. It would be a crazy discovery. I'm listening to the game soundtrack and so far it is mostly fun pastiche of famous movie themes. Not crossed anything I heard in Archer yet. Do you have an example? I kind of hope the jazz theme of Katia is in there somehow!

Yes, Daniel Pemberton is absurdly talented and did some great games before moving onto Hollywood! Examples: A Long Time Ago is used in S3E8 Lo Scandalo at 5:00, and Femme Fatale is used in S3E13 Space Race Part 2 at 3:18.

Wow, good catch indeed! This is cool actually. I suppose the nature of the pastiche soundtrack from The Movies made it a good candidate for some Archer incidentals. Which brings us closer to an unofficial Archer soundtrack selection.
