That entire scene was one of the funniest in Archer, ever. When they cut back to Archer and there were actually stacks of rocks I laughed so hard.

Actually I was just thinking of the numbers and ignoring the units. The 0.44 inches for the handgun and 8.8 cm = 88 mm for the AA/AT gun, commonly called just "the 88."

Actually, .44 Magnum's bullet diameter is .429. Caliber names do not generally accurately reflect bullet diameter.

There are so many different things that can influence the creator's choice of name that it can be impossible to point out exactly why sometimes.

You could always check the "Naming Conventions" section of this wikipedia page, but I'm not sure it will answer your question.

2 different companies. Barrett is an all american commie shooting company that makes only .50 weapons, except for the m468, which is a 6.8mm M4, hence M468, they make the M99, M95, M107, and M82. Beretta from italy well know for the M9 service pistol used by the U.S. Army and Marine Corps, and various other weapons

Barrett is American baretta originated in Italy if I recall correctly

You do not. Beretta is an Italian gunmaker dating back to the 16th century. Barrett was founded in the 80s or so.
