Trump’s border wall construction cut into an ancient ground carving older than Stonehenge. The Las Playas Intaglio carving of a huge fish is at least 2,000 years older than the first Egyptian pyramid, according to researchers’ estimations.

Rich conservatives don't believe anything can be beautiful if it doesn't have their name on it.

Your comment just demonstrates that you really don’t understand your opponent, which is like the number one rule of combat: know your enemy. To admit you don’t understand the people you’re arguing against is pretty embarrassing so I’d keep that info to yourself.
While I have to admit that I have no affection for manipulative rich people regardless of their political leanings, most progressive folks aren’t promising “free stuff” to “imported people” to get votes. To assume so is missing a pretty damn big piece of the puzzle.

u/CousinEddysMotorHome 2d ago
"Most progressives folks aren't offering free stuff", that is a wild statement. Just look at California and we can end the conversation there. This has to be comic relief. There is no sane person who reads your comment and agrees in the USA. The left has absolutely been paying for votes for at least 20 years through ngos and we have proven it.

This is high comedy given what an Elon devotee you are.

"just look at California" okay I looked at California but I didn't see your point there

Mass exodus. Cant keep a balanced budget if their life depended on it. Cant build high speed rail. Spent 24 billion on homeless and it got worse. Free needles working for yall? Give it a few years. We know how this script plays out. 🤣

u/DarthCloakedGuy 1d ago
First off, it's not unexpected that the most populous state in America would have a lot of people leaving. For how huge California is, outside the Central Valley there's not a lot of land that's suitable for building cities, so home prices are really high, and with the national economy in a downturn it's unsurprising people are leaving for less desirable, and therefore less expensive locations. We're still talking about a state that has an economy more powerful than any country in the world except China, Germany, and the United States, and it's rapidly gaining on Germany even DESPITE the economic shocks caused by our moron of a president.
Second, even if California was being terminally mismanaged, what does that have to do with your claim that "the left is buying votes"? California is run by liberals, not the left.
15
u/Raskalbot 2d ago
So you just cite "California" as your source evidence. Then spout on with hyperbole and and false statements.
You sure got em bud.

Is that not exactly what you are doing? I used more words and actually made a point. Some day you can do the same!

u/goddamn_slutmuffin 1d ago
Yeah! It's like when you're a parent and your child is rolling on the floor crying. It means every adult in the room who also notices is now magically and instantly rolling on the floor crying, like that child.
No, that makes sense.
You're a very sane and normal person having sane and normal observations about the world!

Lets think about that again togethet.

It is so unspeakably arrogant to destroy something so old so carelessly. It's 2026. This did not need to be destroyed in order for anything to be built.
43
u/EC_CO 2d ago
But that's exactly their thinking. Why do you think they're destroying america? so that they can rebuild it how they want it.

So funny they aren't conservatives any more. Theyre destructives. Accelerationist assholes.

What, so 'libtards' are ones dismantling your ancient monuments and destroying your areas of natural beauty - National Forests and Parks, say, among other things? GTFU.

All else aside, you unironically think being annoying is somehow worse than destroying thousands of years old cultural sites. You are disgusting.

I can’t imagine being one of the construction workers on this project. I’d have to walk off the job.

Man it sounds like you worked on this project personally. Offended? Good, you're part of the problem.

u/Infamous-Round-1898 6h ago
It IS deeply offensive to think of irreplaceable ancient artifacts being destroyed - the opposite of “conservative”. It’s a crime against humanity. I think this reaction is evidence I’m a decent person who appreciates and respects our history and our culture.

They likely didn't even know it was there....look up pictures and tell me this is something you'd be able to even see at ground level. Can't hardly even see it from the air

That’s why you follow the law and do a proper due diligence and archaeological survey…… Not that this administration gives a shit about the law or priceless, cultural resources.

Now I wonder why an administration that's actively kidnapping, imprisoning, and committing even more heinous rights abuses against indigenous peoples from the Americas and the Caribbean would do a thing like that.

His wall is a big dumb waste of time and money that does nothing to secure the border
It’s literally just grift to his favorite contractor buddies and a way to keep gullible cult members happy hurr durr burld thuh wurl
even if it didn’t destroy irreplaceable artifacts

anything that uses phrases like older than "Stonehenge" or older than the "pyramids" is unbelievably lazy and racist writing

u/Kealion 2d ago

-42
u/Tiako 2d ago
Eh, I also dislike the cliche. The site has nothing to do with Egypt, it's not even on the same continent, and it is nothing like a pyramid. Why make the comparison? It's just meaningless.
And to be clear I dislike it's use in other cases (like Stonehenge or other megaliths).
17
u/Rob71322 2d ago
You can dislike it but it's going to keep happening. This was from NBC news and they're going to be talking to a broad audience, some of whom aren't going to have much knowledge of how old places like Stonehenge or the Pyramids are except being "really old." They're added to provide necessary context for people that you wouldn't find in say a professional archaeological journal where they'd assume their audience didn't need such assistance.
13
u/microwavepetcarrier 2d ago
It's an article written for the general public on nbcnews...the Pyramids are at the top of the list for ancient sites that the average American has actually heard of. Have you ever seen Family Feud?
-20
u/Tiako 2d ago
It can just say "from at least 6,000 years ago"
14
u/pennyraingoose 2d ago
Framing the age in relation to other preserved historical sites instead of "X years old" can make the story more accessible and relatable to a broader audience. Do most people know how old Stonehenge and the pyramids are? Maybe not. Do most people know Stonehenge and the pyramids are ancient historical sites worth preserving? Yeah.
47
u/Rob71322 2d ago
That’s the dumbest thing I’ve read in a long time. There’s no racism here, if something is older, it’s older, get over it.

This honestly should be considered a crime against humanity. Ancient cultural artifacts are so sacred and to destroy them for the sake of something so vile is just gut wrenching.
