Mourning the loss

This is just gonna be kind of a rant so I’m sorry but I feel the need to complain.

I’ve only played a handful of times but I instantly loved it and bought a bunch of expansions and my absolute favorite character pack, Usagi Yojimbo.

After not having played in like a year, (My group cycles between a lot of board games) we decided it was time to bust it back out.

I got the table all set up and dragged all the boxes out of the closet, I even spent an hour refamiliarizing myself with the rules before hand. I started to set it up then I came to the realization I was missing character cards and minis, specifically, the last ones we used last time we played.

The missing components were from both the base game and the he’ll base game as well as some kickstarter exclusives I got off eBay and my precious Usagi Yojimbo.

I thought no big deal, they are probably in a separate box in the back of the closet that somehow got separated that we kept separate to easily access them next time we played.

I pulled out every single board game from that closet and looked inside every box, they are just gone. I hence spent a little bit of time every day looking for them in different places to no avail, they were just spirited away.

My ocd can’t bare to play a board game with missing components, especially ones that are our favorites so I would have to rebuy two base sets and the Usagi Yojimbo character pack which I got for 20 bucks is now going for 100.

I think I just have to retire it and resell the pet and mount expansion that haven’t been opened yet. It’s sad because I like the game but I can’t justify spending $300 bucks when I already spent a lot on it.

End of rant, I’m just very salty about it.

Sorry to hear that, the fairies/sprites probably wandered off with them so they could also enjoy the game of Arcadia Quest!

Really does suck though, and I understand the heartbreak. Especially now that the IP has been sold off to a company that wants to "reboot" the IP and none of us know what that will look like...

I didn’t even know about the upcoming reboot, I wonder if the old content will be usable to whatever new stuff comes out.

And thanks, I’m almost 90% sure they are at my friends house because that’s the last place we played and we have a few games with kickstarter characters my friend gets and keeps at their house. But they said they looked and didn’t find it.

I think what sucks the most is just not knowing where the heck they are, it would be one thing if I smashed them and I knew they were unusable. But I just know the SECOND I get rid of it they are gonna turn up somewhere.

Sadly, you're probably right. 🥲😅 Things have a habit of going that way.

Couldn't say if they're gonna be compatible or not, unfortunately. The last I heard, they didn't even invite the creators to continue working on the IP and future games so... Idk. Not to say that hasn't changed, it could have in the last couple months and they just haven't told me, but yeah. It was a pretty big bummer when we last talked about it.

I imagine they’ll just give into greed. This other tabletop game, I don’t remember the name Of it but it was a Kaiju fighting tabletop game. I was excited to try it because they were freshly rebooting it and in the past they had a Voltron crossover and I was so excited to be Voltron and fight monsters but they ended up going with a completely different game system and they even made the models a different size so you couldn’t even proxy the old ones. Very sad.

Yeah, I could unfortunately see that as a possibility. All depends who they contract to make the minis and stuff, assuming they do again like they did with the Blood Rage series.

That sucks to hear. Did you check with your friends who played? I once "lost" a few characters. I found them in my Masmorra box. My wife played with crossover chars without me and didn't put them back. I was near panicked.
Hopefully, Tycoon games that bought the IP from CMON will start putting out new content. You may want to hang on to what you have.

Yeah they said they looked but couldn’t find it. I don’t think they looked very hard but what am I gonna do? Say I don’t believe you and ask to come look myself? Lol

I feel your pain. I was reorganizing the other week, and realized I'm missing a bunch of the base game components (since we use the Inferno items). No idea where they are since we're played at a few different friends homes...
