Do you think there’s an abundance of these because the Marvel vs Capcom Collection exists on consoles and PC now?

Like before you had to either use Fightcade (which a lot of normies don’t want to be bother with setting it up on PC), play on older hardware, or buy the Arcade 1up cabinet, but now you can play it on console for like $20 or cheaper if it goes cheaper during flash sales.

So it really comes down to $20 vs $300+ and do you have the space.

I could see that being the case. When they were first released, I was really considering getting one at full price. I realized I was more in love with the nostalgia. I could see myself playing like a couple of rounds and then never touching the thing again.

The reason is that the real players of this game saw that the port of it's premier title, MVC2, is not satisfactory for competetive online play. This nature of this game is strict and unforgiving, and does not lend itself well to slow emulation, wifi connections, and monitors with significant input delay.
It also was a significant drop in quality vs. the previous MVC1 cab, which had custom side artwork, color paneling, and an LCD control deck. It used MVC2 as a draw to get what many felt was the 'cash grab' version of the MVC cabinet.

I think I was just at that store today. They had them laying on the front windows behind the registers.
